it is just as helpful to have separate words for the land called israel/palestine (in yiddish, "erets-yisroel" ערץ־ישׂראל), for the nation state that named itself israel (in yiddish, "medines-yisroel" מדינת־ישׂראל), and for the jewish people (in yiddish, among other terms, "bney-yisroel" בני־ישׂראל)

i cannot stress how helpful it is to have separate words for the two language that in english we call biblical/traditional hebrew (in yiddish, "loshn-koydesh" לשון־קודש) and modern hebrew (in yiddish, "ivrit" עבֿריתּ)
