We are officially heading to NIGERIA! 🌟
For years, Nigerian builders and researchers have helped shape the Indaba from its earliest days. Now, we are bringing the energy home to channel a new focus: Sovereign Intelligence, the ability for Africa to build, steward, and understand its own systems.
A flagship keynote panel at #DLI2025 delved into the critical topic of AI policy and national strategies for Africa.
The panel featured insights from Jane Munga, Barbara Glover, Virginia Dignum, and Vukosi Marivate. The session also included a special message from H.E. Ms. Lerato D. Mataboge.
We are thrilled to introduce the Pamodzi Awards, a true testament to the power of our community.

The Women in Machine Learning (WIML) event was dedicated to an open discussion on the challenges women face in the field, and to exploring potential solutions.
Data is the lifeblood of AI, and yesterday's discussion on African Datasets was a powerful call to action for inclusivity and equity.
This initiative aims to bridge the data gap by building a robust repository of high-quality, African-relevant datasets.
Recapping Day 3 at #DLI2025!
Day 3 brought together founders and innovators driving the future of African AI startups. The discussion explored how homegrown startups are tackling real-world challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and finance with cutting-edge AI solutions.
Today's community sessions were all about action! 💡 First, we saw the incredible Top 5 Community Challenge Finalists showcase their innovative projects. The teams are tackling critical issues, with top areas of focus: Health, Agriculture, Climate, Language preservation and building responsible AI.
The Publication Oral Presentations were a brilliant glimpse into the innovative work coming out of the continent.
This session offered a powerful preview of the projects that will be on full display at our poster session tomorrow!
We were honoured to host our Faculty Panel Session, a crucial step in ensuring faculty and academia are at the heart of the conversation.
The session was a reminder that the classroom is where future innovators are shaped.
Following a day of deep-dive tutorials, attendees at #DLI2025 got to put their knowledge to the test in practical, hands-on sessions!
