Following a day of deep-dive tutorials, attendees at #DLI2025 got to put their knowledge to the test in practical, hands-on sessions!
Great first couple of days at DLI @deeplearningindaba.bsky.social in Kigali 🇷🇼, some highlights include amazing talks talks by @verenarieser.bsky.social and Max Welling, great pracs and tuts, and of course the opening party ( before the rain 😢) 🎉 #DLI2025
What an incredible keynote by Max Welling!
He’s challenging us to look beyond chatbots to the "fifth paradigm of scientific discovery": AI4Science. His talk explores how AI is transforming everything from predicting the weather to accelerating molecular simulations.

A thought-provoking keynote at #DLI2025 by Verena Rieser!
Her talk challenged the idea of a single “gold standard” for AI alignment. It was a call to action: moving beyond narrow safety metrics to embrace a pluralistic approach that accounts for our diverse, and sometimes conflicting, human values.
Deeply impressed by the first keynote lecture at the @deeplearningindaba.bsky.social in Rwanda 🇷🇼
Verena Rieser from Google DeepMind talked about aligning AI with diverse views on what’s safe to build AI systems that benefit all and focus on long-term wellbeing 🤖🫂
