I’ve learned there’s three types of people when it comes to vacation planning:

1. The person who already knows exactly what they want
2. The person who has no idea what they want and goes back and forth a million times
3. The person who on just shows up and calls in a panic bc they don’t have hotel

Don’t let “bucket list” culture pressure you into trips that don’t work for your body. There’s no right way to travel.

Summer travel doesn’t have to be chaotic. It can be slow, intentional, and soft — and still unforgettable.

ADA compliant ≠ actually accessible. We deserve clarity, not checkbox compliance.

I used to struggle so much with accepting that my challenges and access needs were real. It’s so easy to feel like it’s all in your head. But I recently started using aids like communication cards, a cane/wheelchair, extra time, etc. and it has made a world of difference. Less pain, more confidence.

“If your condition flares, I don’t cancel the trip — I adjust the plan. Travel should work with your body, not against it.”

We checked into a hotel last night that advertised being accessible. This hotel has been a perfect example of why you call ahead and ask questions. No step-free entry, staff didn’t know what a service dog is, accessible parking was blocked by a dumpster. The list goes on! #travel #disabled
