People are drawn to escapist things because they’re a little bit dissatisfied with the world as it actually is, we want to inhabit or physically touch something that feels free from the disappointments of everyday life

A wide-field astrophotography image of the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), showing a dense, red emission nebula with a shape resembling the continent of North America. The surrounding star field is rich with faint stars and dark nebulae cutting through the glowing gas.
A dramatic image of the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51) interacting with its smaller companion galaxy. The two galaxies are connected by a faint tidal stream, and the spiral arms of M51 are clearly defined, with bright knots of star formation.
A barred spiral galaxy, M109, with a bright central bar and subtle, tightly wound spiral arms. The galaxy appears elongated, set against a backdrop of distant stars, with a smooth and symmetrical structure.
A spiral galaxy seen face-on against a black sky, with delicate arms spiraling outward from a bright core. The arms of M101 (Pinwheel Galaxy) are speckled with blue and pink star-forming regions, surrounded by faint stars.
Finally made it out to a real dark sky site for my first proper night of #astrophotography

Finally had some clear skies last night... not much sleep but for my first try these didn't turn out so bad. Looking forward to getting out to some actual dark skies

A Double-crested Cormorant, holding court on its grassy throne, soaking up the sun between dives.
This Tricolored Heron moved like poetry—elegant, calculated, always one step from its next meal.
A juvenile Little Blue Heron in its all-white phase, looking ethereal and serene before its slate-blue transformation.
Exploring Merritt Island and came across some stunning feathered locals. Caught a Double-crested Cormorant striking a pose, a Tricolored Heron on the hunt, and a juvenile Little Blue Heron looking elegant in white.

A close-up of a rusty, weathered wagon used as a planter, with dried plants in metal pots inside it. The wagon is surrounded by green vines, set against a background of a brick wall and tree trunk. The sunlight highlights the texture and aged patina of the wagon.
A weathered wagon turned planter—holding onto its charm even as time leaves its mark. Sometimes, it’s the overlooked details that tell the richest stories.

Saw him at my first concert ever, he opened for the beastie boys
Close-up of a small fountain with water arching upwards and cascading over itself, forming a smooth, dome-like shape. The water appears almost glass-like, with subtle reflections and ripples. The background is softly blurred, drawing attention to the intricate details of the water

Close-up of a ceiling in a burnt-out warehouse in Detroit. The surface is covered in peeling white paint, revealing dark, textured layers beneath. A rusted horizontal pipe runs across the middle of the frame, with a vertical pipe intersecting it. The image highlights the gritty details of decay and abandonment
