Addison Four Corners sits on a long ridge overlooking the wide fertile plains of the Champlain valley, the High Peaks of the Adirondacks loomed grandly behind under the change of an approaching April thunderstorm.

I’ve always loved this view of Vermont’s capital from up one of its many urban hills that bleed into some of the most picturesque hill farm country in the state. Montpelier’s many steeps make the town ridiculously photogenic!

I dig superlatives! I’ve been to VT’s dual geographic & magnetic center, & population center! The true geographic center was later found in Roxbury, but a monument remains at Norwich University in Northfield; the pop. center off a Warren backroad.

I call this “the world’s prettiest hayfield” — half-joking, but not entirely, I’ve loved this overlook of the wild northern Greens into Québec, featuring Hazen’s Notch—VT’s northernmost pass—since driving by on fly fishing trips as a kid.

Oh! My “memories” feature unearthed a good one! Found an old abandoned railroad bed slashing symmetrically through unassuming woods on a brilliant October afternoon! Had fun investigating while listening to the pattering of leaves falling.

A phantasmagoric, eerily colorful former 19th-century copper mine. Rust-red tailings, acidic runoff, & abandoned industrial remnants scar the deathtrap landscape in a way that waltzes haunting & strangely beautiful.

I just have a naturally curious mind I guess - and I love driving backroads! My friend wasn’t as amused though and waited in the car lol
Thank you! It was one of those spontaneous road trips that turned out to be unexpectedly lovely! Driving the 4 miles through the gulf was almost dream like with the light and fresh snow!
In Vermont, “gulfs” are elongated ravines threaded by a stream. Most are densely scenic, wild, & have uncanny auras. And I love driving through them!
This is Brookfield Gulf on the first day of meteorological spring!

Guys, I made it to the center of the town of Enosburg!
Found this off a muddy backroad! I dig odd, kitschy monuments like this. Back then, it was earnest & civic minded (& practical); now it’s offbeat & charmingly self-important.

Forgot I took this shot of North Hero on a dreamy-dreary fall day. Both the “shire town” & an island in Grand Isle Co, one of VT’s most unique regions! From over City Bay, the village almost looks like a quiet downeast port. Thought it was a cool pic!

Pulled over quick to get shots of the brilliant, naturally blue ice forms sticking to the ledges off the Mohawk Trail! My friend thought some rascals had actually come up the mountain to spray paint the ice; it looked so uncanny!

Filmed a short clip of the Mohawk Trail's (in) famous hairpin turn in North Adams, MA! A dramatic, kinda perilous 180-degree switchback on one of the first auto touring roads in America - clinging to the Berkshires while revealing sweeping views!

That’s much appreciated man!
The land of boulders and bears, from a forgotten historic overlook. Today, the drama around Bolton Narrows blends geology, history, & engineering, offering a powerful sense of how nature & people have shaped the landscape.

Slalomed up 1,594’ Moretown Gap yesterday, a fun racket of tenacious winter and early mud season. The views opened up moodily on the way back down to Moretown!

Love this view!
Local lore holds Bristol’s Deer Leap Mnt. gets its name from deer being driven off its cliffs during Abenaki hunts, or 2 forbidden lovers fatally leaping together after one urged "Ok dear, leap!"
