Slowly going through all the checks for a new version of kuva to be releases. Probably going to take another few days. But i'm up to 59 plot types now (with lots more sub variants).
There is one more plot in a PR, don't worry i'll make it an even 60

So, OpenAI, whose entire business model relies on some overhyped dudebros using vast amounts of stolen data and stolen labour, is releasing a specialised GPT for the life sciences. And naming it, apparently without any sense of irony or self-awareness. Rosalind.

If you need the feature, I just made the code public, if you want to use or add it:

Was actually just building this to check the downloads from my own packages. For this use case the download baseline is so low, that I did not think normalization was needed xD
No normalization, you are totally right about this! Just check the overall matplotlib vs ggplot2 downloads.
So you're telling me Claude functions by screaming at itself "WRITE GOOD CODE NO BUGS SECURE VERY STABLE", mashes compile button, reads back the error and yells ONLY GOOD CODE NO BUGS at itself again while crying and copying random things from Stack Overflow until it compiles?
it just like me fr fr
In March, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Universitätsbund to HIRI for one of their board meetings. In addition to their own agenda, our guests received a brief introduction to the institute & joined a tour of our construction site.🧬👷 Thanks for visiting! 👉 www.helmholtz-hiri.de/en/newsroom/...
I thought software only moved one way: into Rust for speed.

ggdiceplot 1.2.0 is now on CRAN. It fixes the 1.1.0 bug where no pips were rendered.
Lesson learned: we need better visual testing. Any recommendations for checking, in an automated way, that plots not only compile but also render as expected in R?

Built a small open-source template to manage multiple SSH nodes with tmux, track Claude Code/Codex sessions, and keep context in sync.
Hope this helps someone else building across multiple machines.

We’re excited to announce the 2nd edition of the Health Privacy Challenge. 🍅🫐
What started last year as a CAMDA community challenge has grown into a benchmarking study of generative models for biologically useful and privacy-preserving synthetic omics, focusing on trade-offs across evaluation axes.👇

You might have noted that we visualize constituencies and their winners as cartogram.
We do this with a similar technique that @driven-by-data.net has already used last year.
The method is based on centroids, Delaunay tessellation and a force directed graph layout.
In a competitive field like academia, everyone feels like a fraud sometimes, whether it’s a scathing peer review, a bad comment from a student, or being shooed away by campus security when you get caught eating apple cores and chicken bones out of the dining hall dumpster at 3 a.m.
We will have our next community meeting on Tue, Feb 17, 2026, 11AM CST/ 9AM PST !
Kexin Huang, will be presenting on Biomni: a general-purpose biomedical agent.
