"Good afternoon Councillor Lamb
Thank you for sharing the information regarding “the ‘Ridiculous’ Traffic Plan That Actually Worked” video which I have watched with interest and I have also shared with wider colleagues across Regeneration and Highways."
YOU ARE MOST WELCOME 🫡
Recently started biking for real, and holy f-ck - the cars. I swear to absolute fucking God. The cars man. I've never in my 30+ year life seen so many stupid fucking idiots in traffic. Blind motherfuckers. They are making my blood boil. Today someone decided it was a great time to make a U-turn in the middle of the street. I kept distance but the car was jerking and was indecisive and just stopped forcing me to go right on the curb making me fall head over the handle bar and crash. Not a care in the world the driver just looked at me and drove off. Never in my life have I seen so many stupid people that can't drive. And I've had a drivers license for over 20 years soon.
A common thread among newer cyclists is realizing just how awful drivers are. There are things you simply don't notice — behavior that has been normalized — when you mostly drive. Biking, walking, or rolling through the world changes that.
Cycling UK: Nearly three in ten drivers are walking and cycling more as fuel costs continue to bite

Walked by this beauty last night - pretty awesome to see these messages out in the world.
NYC study shows men are 2.6x more likely than women to bike to work. When protected bike lane coverage is high, women’s cycling rates rise significantly faster than men’s.
When protected lanes are limited or fragmented, women’s participation drops sharply.
Good bike investments give women choices.
If you are a Councillor, please watch this.
It happened nearly 50 years ago in the Netherlands. The arguments against restricting traffic were the same as those made today and were proven to be wrong.
Many cities would greatly benefit from a circulation plan.

We urgently need a clampdown on illegal driving, if not insured, taxed or driven without a license the vehicle should be confiscated. These are basic requirements of the road.
UK research also suggests an association between traffic related air pollution and the number of adult cardiovascular and paediatric respiratory hospital admissions.

The stats here are horrific.
300,000 uninsured drivers on roads every day.
1 person affected every 20 minutes by an uninsured driver.
1 person a day left with life changing injuries every day by an uninsured driver.
Yet successive govts have failed to tackle this

This looks amazing - can't wait to try it out next time we're in London ~ Dan
Great thread for us fans of cycling infra urban safaris!

Sadly, Reform & the Tories didn't turn up. It's a real shame—we were very keen to hear their active travel policies for the new Senedd. 😕 What cycling commitments do you want to see from our next MSs? Let us know! 👇 #Cardiff #ActiveTravel
Great turnout at the Bike Lock Café for the Cardiff Cycle City hustings ahead of the May 2026 Senedd elections! 🚲🏴 Huge thanks to the Green, Lib Dem, Plaid Cymru & Labour candidates for sharing their active travel visions for Wales.

@cardiffcouncil.bsky.social What’s this about? No prior warning, no alternative route. Image if this was part of the highway…. Oh, hang on, it’s is! @cardiffcyclecity.bsky.social
Every extra centimeter of hood height is another blind spot.
This isn’t an accident. It’s a design choice.
Stop manufacturing, selling, and buying these machines.

This is Llandaf Fields car park 🅿️. The pedestrian walkways are clearly marked but people persist in blocking them with their cars.
Please can we have some enforcement, @cardiffcouncil.bsky.social ?
Excellent organisation, questions and answers at our Cardiff Cycling Hustings event this evening - thanks to Bike Lock for hosting!
Shame we didn’t get any representatives from the Tories or Reform, however. We were looking forward to hearing their plans for Active Travel policy in the next Senedd…
An infographic from CalTrans explains that building more and wider roads doesn't solve congestion, apart from momentarily, because the additional capacity induces more demand.
Crazy high prices for a great bike storage.
We pay £60 annual for a diesel car, has a £12 surcharge, and we get like 1000hrs on top FREE Vouchers for visitor parking
#Cardiff
And with £90 for a second car, you can park two motor vehicles in the same amount of space as 12 bikes, for less ££ !
Bike hangars are brilliant because lack of secure storage is an obstacle to getting more people cycling more often.
But to set the charge such that residents of some of the least affluent communities in Wales are paying more than folk in Islington is a massive own goal
