Archon: The Light and the Dark - a chess-like board where players command armies of light and dark fantasy creatures. Strategy + Action. Born on the Atari 8-bit, but I became a hit thanks to the C64 version. One of my favorite C64 games ever #retrogames #c64 #archon #atari8bit

This is amazing! I wonder if they use SCUMM, since scumm was created for the c64, but monkey island was never released for the c64. But in theory it could be done.

The Chaos Engine (1993) has some of the best graphics seen on the Amiga. It is the first game the Bitmap Brothers developed originally for the Amiga (not the Atari ST), and the results are visible. It was also ported to Genesis and SNES. #retrogames #amiga #bitmapbrothers

I know Monkey Island 1 and 2 weren't commercial successes, but when Day of the Tentacle arrived in 1993, I remember everyone was talking about it. Maybe it was the title that really launched LucasArts adventures

I still have the box. Such a great game. Pity i never bought the expansions

Sierra literally invented graphic adventures but playing those games was often a pain. Personally I never finished any Sierra adventure. Lucasarts perfected the game design, introduced point and click, and made those games fun to play. No surprise lucasarts adventures are still loved today

You are right, the EGA version looks very similar to the Atari ST one. Itโ€™s not bad. Anyway the Amiga one is better. I am actually surprised the Amiga version is not a simple port of the Atari ST, it was a common practice, instead they remade it for the Amiga.

I didnโ€™t have a NES so I only tried the NES version recently on the emulator and I was surprised how good it is. But yeah clearly the original is better.

Ultima VII: The Black Gate (1992). NPCs had daily schedules. Bread baked in real ovens. You could pick up and move almost any object in the world. I spent so many hours on this game. Still one of the greatest RPGs ever made. ๐Ÿ—ก๏ธ #RetroGaming #DOS #Ultima #RPG
