About 13 years ago I lost a $100 bet to a friend. When I couldn’t pay him on the spot he told me to instead make a painting. The idea I came up with ended up being way to much for me to handle at the time. I worked on and off for years only to lose it in a move. I’m starting it over today. 🫡 #art

I’d say they are non representational, but mark making and the expressiveness of line making feels like a record of real time and decision making to me.
I have a lot of references I use, basically a back catalog of experiments I’ve done with my palette of colors. I resequence them in all sorts of different ways and the ones that really grab me I apply to work when it feels right.
