Expanded the office area and made it overall more spooky. Next I will introduce lots of lore, documents and also cassette tapes the player can find.

Implemented a keylock system to open doors. It's still a bit too bright, gotta disable player flashlight when interacting.

AH it is a frustum thing.
Stumbled over some bizarre #Godot oddity: when I set my camera to current that is supposed to focus on a mesh, the mesh suddenly disappears (but its shadow is still rendered). STRANGE!
One of those pull requests that will make Godot even greater than it is already. Texture streaming with quality texture levels:

Great video on horror environment design.

Only perhaps at the very end I may introduce something else that is truly terrifying but I am still unsure about that.
However, the more the player progresses, they will learn more and more about the lore of this forsaken place and realise something else is going on here... eventually they might learn they were never alone to begin with.
My idea to solve this is via environmental gameplay: the bunker is very dangerous and has some dangerous contraptions. To progress, the player has to do some genuine dangerous things to escape.
I want to create something that builds up tension constantly and keeps the player at the edge of their seat but without introducing a monster (straight away).
I love horror but I don't like cheap horror. It would be very easy to add a random monster to my game that chases the player and you had to hide (with safe rooms etc) however this idea gets old rather quickly. It's a cheap way to shock with only little build up.
My quest to take ideas from Resident Evil continues:

Using the SteamAudio GDExtension with CSG shapes is problematic. Yes, I can bake a Mesh from CSG but using that with SteamAudio crashes my game silently. :(
Implemented a fully working fusebox. Audio is not yet quite working and the fuse names are still placeholder but the system works. I am satisfied!

Default Bézier editor view
Bézier view after zooming in
Using the Bézier curve editor in #Godot can be confusing for people who have never used it before (first screenshot). This is because by default, it is not zoomed in properly. Always click the button on the bottom right so it zooms in properly.

CSG is amazing btw for quick prototyping 3D levels.
How massive should the wall fans be?
YES.
Testing Steam Audio today for my #Godot horror game.
