The Key to Avalon. This morning's sunrise on Glastonbury Tor. A bit windy up there and very cold hence nobody else around.

New research warns the Atlantic Ocean’s key current system (AMOC) is weakening faster than expected, with models now pointing to a ~42–58% slowdown by 2100—pushing it closer to a tipping point that could trigger irreversible global climate disruption.
Serenity has arrived safely to Maine! This poor momma is scared and shakes when you go hear her. It’s so heartbreaking ❤️🩹 but we know with time she will come around. She now has a safe place to foal when time. Thank you everyone that made this possible

A color, macrophoto of a Robin perched on a branch in Virginia, during late April, 2026. The capture was taken during rain and the photographer snapped the photo at the split second a raindrop fell on the top of the bird's head, making it appear like a "natural" crown. 📸 Dawn Denise Boyer of Gloucester, Virginia

Right in the middle of rain, the photo was captured the split second a droplet of water landed on the #Robins head like a crown! 👑

Carlito’s Sunlit Delight
‘Surely there was a time I might have trod
the sunlit heights, and from life’s dissonance
Struck one clear chord to reach the ears of God.’

A brown-and-beige husky smiles with his tongue out, sitting on snow in bright sunlight. His shadow stretches tall behind him, and so does a human shadow (mine, while I took the photo).
It's Tacoma's gotcha day! Six years since I brought him home from the racing kennel where he was born and trained to pull and run. A bittersweet anniversary this year, as we adjust to the news from last week that he won't be with us much longer.

Mount Rainier rises above the far shoreline beyond calm water, with soft pink evening alpenglow lighting the snow-covered upper slopes. Layers of lavender and gray clouds stretch across the sky, while dark trees and scattered waterfront homes form a deep blue band below the mountain. The smooth water in the foreground reflects the cool tones of the scene with a faint hint of pink. The photo feels calm, quiet, and gently luminous.
While I was at the Lake Washington this week, Mount Rainier caught my eye in this beautiful evening light. The pastel sky and quiet reflection gave the whole scene a peaceful feel.

How to spot the peak of the Lyrid meteor shower. I'd look up at the sky. This is without a shadow of a doubt one of the worst astronomy video observing guides I've ever seen. 🔭 🧪 www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/...
The view from my balcony looking out on Viros Gorge, one of many mountain ranges on the Pelopenese in Greece. We arrived for a climbing holiday and the first thing I always do is feel and embrace the sea. I dived off a rock covered in slime and broke my toe. No hiking or climbing. The hospital was miles away in the wrong direction of travel. You Tube helped me to strap my toe and Croc sandals became the only footwear I could walk in. I never got to climb but my husband did. I watched as he crossed the gorge on his ascent. The funny thing is I had no idea I still had photos of this event until we recently cleared and replaced our computer. Imagine, a hiking holiday watching the mountain range you are supposed to be hiking!
There is a story behind this image which can be found in alt text. A view of the Viros Gorge on the mountain range of the Pelopenese. That is all from me for now as I head off to celebrate my husband's 60th!
Thank you all for likes & more!

How dare you drive the speed limit when I'm late to something due to my own poor time management skills.
A broad, still expanse of water fills the foreground, so clear that the lakebed—small rounded stones in muted grays and browns—shows through beneath a thin veil of reflected sky. The surface is nearly motionless, acting as a mirror for the dawn above. At the horizon, the lake narrows into a distant valley framed by layered mountain ridges. The mountains rise on both sides in dark, cool silhouettes—deep blue to charcoal—softened by early light and atmospheric haze. On the left, a dense forest of conifers forms a continuous, shadowed edge that slopes gently into the water; on the right, the mountain face is steeper, its contours more pronounced but still subdued in the low light. The sky is the focal point. A scattered field of mid-level clouds stretches across it, each cloud catching the first light of sunrise. Colors transition from pale gold and peach near the horizon to cooler blues and soft grays higher up. The brightest band sits just above the distant valley, where the sun—still hidden—pushes a warm glow outward, illuminating the undersides of the clouds. This light is duplicated almost perfectly in the lake’s reflection, forming a symmetrical composition: sky above, sky below, divided by a thin, horizontal line of brighter water near the center. The reflection is slightly softened by faint ripples, but remains remarkably crisp.

Atlantic Ocean sensors confirm a consistent two-decade decline in the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. Data from four mooring arrays across the western boundary verify a weakening transport signal below 1,000 meters, validating concerns of long-term circulation shifts.
