I wish I had cerebral palsy. All the cool kids at summer camp had it. But alas, I am a proud member of the #SpinaBifida community, a very charasmatic group if I do say so myself. And as long as I'm doing a fact check, Nyle is the co-director of Deaf President Now on Apple+. But thanks for the H/T

And it's wild to deal with people who act like you're negative because symptoms of the conditions you live with affect you.

Strive to find Joy in each day. It's a way to practice self care. When we take care of ourselves, we can better take care of others. The more spoons we can hold together, the better we can organize and make some noise and good trouble.

How easy is it to call congress if you are #Deaf? I love following @metrauxjulia.bsky.social We need to stick together and inform each other.

The possibility of abduction by a sovereign and imprisonment abroad is one criterion that separates democracies from dictatorships.

The Declaration of Independence called the British king tyrannical for transporting Americans, “beyond Seas to be tried for pretended Offenses.”

This is one of my daily "go into disassociation" reads about how callous and harmful people can be when they open their mouths.

#RFKjr needs to watch the documentary #PatriceTheMovie on #Hulu or #Disney+. There you will meet Elizabeth, whose value is worth a million in friendship and educating us.

48 years ago the 504 sit in began. And now we are faced with having to have to save it. If you go out today to a hands off demonstration, it would not be a bad idea to have a sign that says Save 504.

I tip my hat to co-director Nicole Newnham.

Hi Slava. There’s no festival run planned but I’ll let them know that there’s international interest. I have used a VPN to access the BBC. That might be a solution. Did you try American Experience’s YouTube channel? ❤️

It makes me so happy that you will check out my documentary. It’s not really my documentary because so many people worked on this film to make it as great as it is. My hats off to American experience on #PBS

When the fabulous @timgrayglobes.bsky.social posts such nice things about you, you have to repost. Tim has been a wonderful ally of the disabled.

I’m reading up on what to do. I believe that multiple strategies for pushing back are needed. Look to history to see what is worked in the past, but look to those today on social media to give you a wider perspective.

If I may offer some advice: Let go of preconceived notions of what “rising up” should look like.

Don’t overly focus on a big march in DC. Recognize that we’re already seeing significant pushback, it’s just not conforming to what we imagined it would look like.

Be open to new ways of doing things.

I hope you have that watch party. With all of the attacks on our community, I hope that our film will spark more activism among all generations in our community to make a lot of noise. I believe that when we learn from our history we realize that we can fight back and win. ♿️🔥🤟👊👍❤️

This is what our country is doing to people. It’s worse than any drama I’ve seen. We used to welcome the tired, the sick, those yearning for freedom. I didn’t vote for the creep that separated children from their parents.

This is how We’ll treat citizens who don’t support the president.
