It took six years, but one animator’s burnout sketch turned into a short film pitch, then a fully playable game prototype at London-based indie studio The Line. 'Deaths of Peck' is now out in the world as a demo. www.cartoonbrew.com/animators/de...

"keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it’s immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like “yeah so this is going to happen to the internet” and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don’t even get paid for it"

how adults colonize every third space and remove young people — including the Internet

4 panel comic

Panel 1: Wile E. Coyote has finally murdered Road Runner by crushing him under a massive boulder

Panel 2: Wile celebrates his long sought after victory

Panel 3: Wile steps out from behind the boulder and is immediately confronted by Columbo who says “Mr. Coyote” in his typically annoying but persistent manner

Panel 4: Columbo calls his name again. Panicked, Wile retreats quickly behind the boulder, but in his heart of hearts, he knows it will do no good. In about two hours he’ll be going to prison. And not cartoon prison. Human prison.

When it comes to video games, when were "the good ol' days" for YOU?

When were the times when you felt the absolute coziest during your gaming adventures? I want to know what that era is for you and what it felt like!

I'm so thankful for @tuyoki.bsky.social . She draws so much amazing arts all the time for my game. She draws almost everything. Even boring stuff like chairs. I don't want to draw a chair.

One thing I appreciate about old internet humor is how blunt it was. Look at this image. Adding ANYTHING ruins the joke. It's perfect. Why? Because some guy on a message board went "I really want to dunk on this game, what's the least work I can do to get my point across." Pure Distilled Comedy.

Eleven years since you crossed the black sands. I wish I could say that the world is better than you left it (although it will always be better for having had you in it) but at least there is a new Young Sam to help carry on the Pratchett name and ethos. Love you always ❤️

Well yeah not these days I’m referring to back then.

I mean that’s great and all but I’m pretty sure I would not make fun of you for that specific reason. Making fun of someone for likening the same things I like makes no sense.

…I would never make fun of someone living the life of Akira Toriyama or Jason David.

His story was so beautiful and tragic. I absolutely love One Piece.

That’s fair. I’ve heard good things about that show.

Well I still enjoy video games and tv. I don’t plan to stop engaging with those.
