Another fantastic point release for @elementary It’s been rock solid this year even when I go off piste by installing all sorts of packages. Now looking possible to get it installed on Apple Silicon too which is a very attractive proposition for my M1 MacBook Pro #elementaryos #linux

Long time user of Firefox cos’ IMHO it’s still the best web browser for reasons, but I’ve recently switched to Zen browser, which is based on Firefox. The way it handles tabbed browsing with split page view has been a chuffing game changer for workflow/productivity 🔥 #firefox #zenbrowser

Elementary OS on a 16” 2019 Apple MacBook Pro? Actually it’s the D.E installed on top of a special version of Ubuntu which includes kernel patches and drivers for Apple’s hardware. Overall it runs really well but pain points include inconsistent booting into the greeter and touchbar #elementaryos

Been power using the Files app on elementary OS 🎨 Using colour tags as a visual task tracker while updating 400+ pages of medical site content. Using Green, Yellow & Red on the files and folders makes it really easy to see what web pages have been updated, in progress, or pending #elementaryos

1st impression of MacOS Tahoe: It’s too round! The control centre menu in the top panel is ugly. Dock icons look blurry. Light mode feels childish, unfinished and unprofessional. Dark mode is sleeker. Lot’s of non-Apple app window frames need updating so cohesion lost. Maybe wait a while to upgrade?

Switched back to a "Chaotic Neutral" monitor layout having been "Neutral Good" since having the two QHD monitors. There's something about #elementaryOS that feels better when the primary display is centred. Plus having the second monitor as portrait lends it's self perfectly for web development

I’ve been holding off using the Wayland session on elementary OS because my favourite colour picking app called Picker wouldn’t work. Just discovered that this has been forked to a new app called Cherrypick which has the XDG thingy to make it work on Wayland, so hurrah for that
