Sure, YouTube, offer up a 4K/60 playback version for videos and then always fail to deliver it without buffering ever 10 seconds.

And you want people to turn off adblockers and pay for Premium?

Screenshot of the SST Minority Statt Report. The highlighted passage reads: "Administrator Isaacman has launched an ambitious agenda for crewed spaceflight and science missions alike, and he appears to have a clear idea of the direction in which he intends to lead the agency. That direction is incompatible with the diminished horizons put forth by the FY27 PBR. It is important that Administrator Isaacman defend NASA by protecting its workforce and its mission and shielding it from the political interference and ideological extremism emanating from OMB. Administrator Isaacman must follow the law as enacted by Congress and not adhere to direction from OMB that is contrary to law. "

The report addresses Isaacman directly:

It looks like NASA was ransacked before Jared Isaacman's tenure began.
Can he fix the damage? Or has he already started to do so?
The fight against the next PBR trying to gut NASA's science projects is also on the horizon.

I Was WRONG About Artemis II - It Was Not Boring At All
I Was WRONG About Artemis II - It Was Not Boring At All YouTube video by ShadowZone

Now that the #Artemis2 mission is over, I had some time to reflect on why I switched from "meh" to "this is awesome!"
Here are my thoughts:

Alright, let's add new lyrics to the "Ode to joy": Something something "Oh Canada!"

Congrats, buddy! Been hoping for this for many years.

Yes, creators can deactivate this ... for now.
I fully expect YouTube to reactivate it at one point without notifying me.

I probably wouldn't be as irate about it if it wasn't automatically activated, as you correctly pointed out.

Kill this feature with fire! The auto-dubbing as well!

And curse anyone who thinks this is a good development.

I'm fine with subtitles, but just adding non curated automated voiceover is borderline deepfaking!

I cannot articulate enough how much I hate YouTube's auto-translation features!

First off: my language is set to English, so WHY?!?.
Second: translating band names (Angine de Poitrine) proves your "AI" is anything but intelligent. Are the "Rolling Stones" now the "rollende Steine" in German?

🎉#Artemis II update: Integrity is back on Earth! At 01:07 BST/02:07 CEST, Orion and its crew splashed down in the Pacific Ocean.
🚀Our European Service Module propelled Orion over 1 million km through deep space, before burning up in Earth's atmosphere, its job complete 🔥

Artemis II splashdown in less than 12 hours from now.
I won't be able to watch it live since it is planned for roughly 2:00am my time.

Yep. It's like a scavenger hunt.

The site I linked also offers original resolution downloads.

But apparently there are multiple sites where these images are being hosted. Kinda confusing.

The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA

The lunar surface fills the frame in sharp detail, as seen during the Artemis II lunar flyby, while a distant Earth sets in the background. This image was captured at 6:41 p.m. EDT, on April 6, 2026, just three minutes before the Orion spacecraft and its crew went behind the Moon and lost contact with Earth for 40 minutes before emerging on the other side.
In this image, the dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime, while on its day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater shows terraced edges and a relatively flat floor marked by central peaks — formed when the surface rebounded upward during the impact that created the crater.

I love the pictures from Artemis II, but NASA's image website is incredibly bad for filtering down to just the current images from the Moon.
And the Artemis II album doesn't include all imaged. Really frustrating to navigate this!

Mission control actually responded with "Amaze, Amaze, Amaze!" 🤣

I love this mission.

The crew of Artemis II naming a so far unnamed crater 'Carroll' to honor Reid Wiseman's wife who passed in 2020.

Beautiful moment, indeed.

Love that one.

I'm hesitant to accept "war with Iran" as a reason, because the Apollo programme happened during the Vietnam war.

Is it just me or was the general public's reaction to Artemis II launching more like shrugged shoulders than actual excitement?

I slept when it launched (time zones). Now, roughly 6 hours later, the story is barely above the fold on most news websites.

Thoughts on why?
