Took some time away to solidify my setting, style and story, but recently been nailing down the sizing and geometry specifics of the ledge platforming and thought these ledge hops were pretty satisfying to share

Got a showcase of dynamic physics working for spheres and testing the fun with a ball pit style mayham! Also got a preview of the tiny but vital platformer feature of respawn checkpoints that's pretty smooth.

I've been at the grind working on quite a few complex vital systems that aren't quite ready yet, but heres a basic test preview of one of them, the trigger/interact system that shows off some new weapon styles.

I've been hitting my head against the wall for hours trying to figure out this incomprehensible error regarding displaying text with three-mesh-ui in aframe and the issue ended up being caused when the font file shares a folder with another font... wow ๐คข. That's a lesson I wont ever forget!
Made quite a bit of progress this week immersing myself not just in the design and code of my game's systems, but in VR too! Not as stomach turning with all the 3rd POV jumping and dashing around as I thought

That tornado effect looks awesome, meshes well with your cool game style!
Thank you! It is a pretty fun feature. I'm hoping to add a wall hit redirection and if you slide on a downward angle you keep sliding all the way down to make it a bit more unique.
Been squashing some annoying bugs, but was able to add a few cool things like avatar blinking and dynamic platforms working with my other systems like shadow trail. No ledge grab just yet, but otherwise working well so far.

Made some good progress today on better ledge grab snapping and getting the slide dash action to work well.

Feels like I've been working on the bricks for eons, but finally starting to build a house with it. Still pretty rough, but heres a short little preview of the basic movement in my 3D action platformer for webxr (aframe / three.js). Hoping to have a polished demo out within a month or 2.

Recently had the opportunity to build 3 demos to demonstrate the power of game feel!

This is what working on a few different gamedev projects simultaneously feels like and I do not recommend it. I just want to see my favorite prototypes come to fruition, but man I should really focus on one at a time.
More in-progress previews for proc-gen stuff. The goal is to build the rigs for various forms and animating them in blender, but using three.js to build / carve out the unique armor and faces for each monster or humanoid as well as texture / color them. Here's some basic humanoid examples animated.

I would prefer to share my work when it's all polished in it's final form, but realizing the progression of how it evolves is interesting in of itself. Gotta get more in-progress previews out there, so here's a section of my brainstorming doodle wall I play with for my proc-gen rig and face ideas.
It's a bit funny that many AAA games I play are encouraging because I think 'huh, that's the best they can do with a huge team and $$$ backing?', but other indies are intimidating with their tiny teams and shoe string budgets as I awe 'holy cow, they did all this with just their grit and passion!?'

This incredibly thin haptic patch lets you feel interactions in VR and AR, imagine wearing a full suit or gloves made of these.

Ahh that must of been frustrating, but at least an entertaining process.
Totally agree, the casual conversation input/output ability though is pretty awesome, like your own rubber ducky that actually responds ๐ฆ
I think AI/LLMs are interesting and fun tools (sans the dgaf about copyright bs), but the overwhelming confidence many companies have with it right now is mindboggling. It's like they saw a magician pull a rabbit from a hat and thought 'Wow, lets hire them to stock our farm' ๐ซ

Wow, not going to be using Firefox anymore since Mozilla just went off the deep end with some wild new terms of service that reads like they own everything single thing you do in the Browser. I'm more disappointed then angry

Here's a cool lil clip showing off the various 3D cell shapes swapping action for my Web XR aframe take on the classic 'Conway's Game of Life' I did a while back. It can be a bit mesmerizing just to let it tick on.

Ohh totally agree. Not as extreme of an example, but I have yet to download on Quest my free Beat Saber (~1.4gb), because Moonrider is basically instant and works awesomely.
