I don't know of any settings with sufficient neonatal therapies and follow up therapy services. I think I'd start with that.
It was excellent to collaborate with you all. @sallymorganslt.bsky.social @drmariviviersslt.bsky.social and Ailish. Looking forward to seeing it in print.
Thanks @sallymorganslt.bsky.social!

Very exciting paper on UK NICU mothers own milk (MOM) has just been published online by Shalini Ojha's group: fn.bmj.com/content/earl... Strong social determinants of exclusive & any MOM. Highest risk of no/non exclusive are white mothers <26 years living in most deprived areas 1/
I've made surprisingly good progress learning Stata, and even cracked a big coding problem all by myself. However, I'm now annoyed with it and wishing I'd just had the confidence to learn R like my stats supervisor told me I should.
The reason for my annoyance? Stata can't tell me IQR 😮
Oooh, have never tried that!
Pretty sure copha is actually poisonous but an essential ingredient nonetheless 😂
You're right. I need to move back home!
Donald Trump
How should you respond to a regime that has disregard for health and wellbeing, ignores the central role of inequalities in poor health outcomes, and believes science and scholarship to be enemies of progress?

It's very much a real thing - imagine my horror when my British children and their friends rejected it when I served it at birthday parties! I've been trying to get hold of copha so I can make then chocolate crackles but seems to be impossible.

Last week I updated my mega-post "What's wrong with the Cass Review?" with new links to analysis and evidence.
I have no illusions about the current political landscape. It will likely take years to undo Cass' act of sabotage. But I am in this fight for the long haul and hope you are too.
"Our social system is not only failing to do its job but, worse, actively pushing some people into deeper poverty, through cruel limits and caps. The good news is that change is possible and can be achieved quickly." Paul Kissack, Chief Executive
This year the UK Govt say they will publish an 'ambitious' cross-government child poverty strategy
Any respectable child poverty strategy must include action on social security including to abolish the two-child limit and introduce a protected minimum amount of support to UC 5/5
1. Breaking News: Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting trans youth and teachers in schools who teach for them.
It goes after "social transition" and threatens arrests.
I will go through line by line, as I have the last 3 nights.

Open access paper showing evidence that typical bilingual language development follows a trajectory similar to monolingual development. Nice to see longitudinal data from a larger cohort (n = 604). #SLPeeps

The morning after posting this, I got a scam call from a phony company about 'the problems I'm having with my house' 🙄
(I didn't fall for it, everything is fine).
Anyway, 1) be careful out there folks, and 2) guess I'll have to stick to strictly work-related posts from here on in - sorry!
Agreed - and for all those interested in getting rid of it, our colleague @haggistamer.bsky.social posted some useful instructions a few weeks back...

Image shows a patio and countryside view from French door windows, with grey, wet, windy weather outside. Inside there is a knitting basket in the foreground.
Temporarily living in a farm cottage while some work is done on our house ❤️
Would be positively idyllic if not for all the work emptying the rooms at home!
Hopefully now having a bit of peace for an hour or so 🤞🤞
when my mother in law was dying last year, there was a really remarkably good little book given as part of hospice care, and one of the points it made was that even the last months of life were still a time you could grow, change, and enjoy both old and new things.
