openRxiv has arrived!
Weโre thrilled to announce the launch of openRxiv as an independent, researcher-led nonprofit to oversee bioRxiv and medRxiv, the worldโs leading preprint servers for life and health sciences.

Iโm super excited to share what Iโve been working on for the last (many) years: a spatial + genomic + transcriptomic characterization of how the breast cancer microenvironment evolves through immunotherapy! (1/x) ๐งช๐งฌ ๐ฅ๏ธ #AcademicSky #MLSky #ImmunoSky www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
We share a lot of our ideas, code, datasets (that we spend years sanitizing) early. Often way before we release preprints. We do this so that others can use, build on, improve & even "beat" our approaches. But I want to say a few things about some simple expectations 1/
๐งช let's see the impact of ๐ต sky for finding expertise! My dept is in ASAP need of somebody with bioinformatics expertise to provide content for several course developments. Work is remote and contract, courses will be online asynch. Courses are for bio and data science majors. Pls spread the word! ๐

Nice keyboard and of course the view :-)
Great move by Finland to downgrade Frontiers and MDPI journals, and others should follow retractionwatch.com/2024/12/24/f...
Good one!! Plus, the time it took to download the data.

Good news, Altmetric has now started watching BlueSky for mentions of publications. And by the way, provides an easy comparison between this and the old site for a recent preprint of mine which I posted simultaneousl at both. Numbers speak by themselves !

Just wrapped up the first class of our reproducibility mini-course this term at Stanford! The energy and enthusiasm these ECRs bring to making science reproducible is truly inspiring. Their engagement, curiosity and commitment to rigor in research give me so much hope for the future of science.
Congrats and very well deserved!!๐
Late but excited to join Bluesky!
Iโm a computational biologist interested #generegulation #cancergenomics, #openscience, science and health policy. Looking forward to connecting and re-building the community here!!
