Does anyone know a good place to hire teachers/translators for creating language learning content?

I have recently also added some handy keyboard shortcuts for reviewing cards faster on Yalango 🌟

Let me know if you want other shortcuts and I'll consider adding them!

Yalango now supports multilingual decks (only official decks for now), which means that you can choose which source language you want to use when playing a deck.

Example of studying Mandarin Chinese in French (try clicking on a deck): yalango.com/learn/mandar...

I'm testing to add many premade decks to Yalango in different languages to make it quicker to get started learning.

Example in Norwegian: yalango.com/learn/norweg...

Any thoughts?

Interested in an organized way to study vocabulary you learn in language classes in 2025? Try creating folders and decks for your classes on Yalango, and review them with fun games and spaced repetition 😊

New on Yalango 💫 Flashcards will now show custom fields in study mode (if you have added custom fields to the deck) + design update of the cards!

Example: yalango.com/decks/626760...

What import or export features would you love to have for your vocabulary decks? Csv, image, pdf, Anki, external service etc.?

I was inspired by Bluesky's public user counter, so I added one to Yalango as well 😁

Yes, that could work well. I'm currently building out some features related to courses, so when that works well it would be interesting to approach teachers/native speakers :) I'd love to support one of the Sami languages first as they are spoken in my country (Norway)

Interesting idea! Sounds quite different from what already exists in the other apps.

Hopefully there are 😍

That's great! Yeah, maybe knowing some Japanese helps a bit... For me the pronunciation is so hard to grasp as well!

Yes, that's a nice idea! And doesn't sound too complicated to make unless you also want to make the content for the concepts yourself. Your other idea is also very interesting but definitely much harder to make!

I'd love to make something to support endangered minority languages! Still thinking about what the best way to do it would be :) That was one of my main motivations for starting Yalango, but it's hard to know what the best path is.

Feel free to share your ideas below 😊Maybe someone is currently building what you're looking for or could add it as a feature!

Nice work! My favorite way is definitely finding friends who speak my target language. I tend to get quite bored from using apps.

Who else in the #langsky community are making their own apps or websites for language learning? Share them below with a brief description of what you are trying to build! I'd love to test them 😁

Agreed! So nice to not have constant notifications from bots following you as well 😅

Coding in coffee shops are the best 😍 What kind of language app are you making?

Yalango - Supercharge Your Language Learning Journey Study languages with Yalango.

I'm redesigning the public part of Yalango and would love to hear your thoughts and feedback so far 🥰

My idea is to separate more clearly the creation of content (dashboard) and actually studying (main site). More coming soon about this upcoming update.

Anyone learning Mandarin Chinese here? Do you also feel like it's super hard to reach a conversational level? 🥺

I've been learning Chinese much longer than Spanish, but my Spanish is already much better...

Yeah, it could potentially be useful, but the problem would be if I started generating the decks in languages I can't check myself. The app supports 180 languages and I'm not sure if AI works well in many of the smaller languages. In widely spoken languages it seems to work very well though.

Yes, that's also a solution, but I have some bad experiences doing that. It seems like some translators accept translations that are technically correct, but if you would have asked them to translate it from the beginning they'd write it differently. That's my experience with Gengo at least 😅

Yeah, you probably get a more personal relationship with the deckt that way and I would guess you learn the words better as well. But I have noticed that many users like duplicating other users' decks as a starting point.

Yeah, thanks for your sharing your thoughts! 😊

Yes, good point. Then you wouldn't trust any of the information in other decks either. My motivation was to remove the somewhat tedious job of making decks for simple topics, but AI decks is probably not the solution. It's probably a better solution to pay teachers to create professional decks.
