Hey fellow @obies.bsky.social! Did you know that Tappan Square was designed by the sons of Frederick Law Olmsted, who basically invented the practice of landscape design and was responsible for Central Park and the U.S. Capitol grounds? Learning this made me extra proud to be an Obie.

oberlin college graduating seniors not putting up with the board’s support of genocide at commencement today

It’s pretty cool having just graduated from a school where 75% of the graduating class disrupts the head of the board’s commencement speech with ten minutes of “free free palestine” chants because they refuse to divest from israel. I’m so proud of us <3

In 4th grade @obies.bsky.social learned what our ancestors did when federal agents kidnapped someone they hoped to return to slavery (took up arms & rioted to force his release) & tbh I had hoped that was not going to be applicable to my future life but

just donated to the @edsbs.bsky.social Charity Bowl for New American Pathways, welcoming refugees. $70.60, to commemorate Oberlin's 1921 7-6 triumph over OSU; last time the buckeyes lost to an in-state rival.
