On the left, a fig is drawn and accompanied by the text « this is not a fruit ».
In the middle part, the flowering of a fig is pictured. In male fig trees, the syconium contains sterile short-style female flowers and fertile male flowers. In female fig trees, the syconium contains fertile long-style female flowers and atrophied and sterile male flowers.
On the right, a mature fig.

Figs are not fruits, and you have probably never seen fig tree flowers.

* Fig trees’ flowering takes place out of sight in a syconium.

* In botany, a fruit results from the transformation of a flower's ovary. Therefore, a fig is not a single fruit but a cluster of fruits.

The fusion of Efficient, Scientific, and Figure perfectly reflects my missions:
👉 Save scientists time on figure design, improve their visual communication
👉 Create effective figures for them

Figs are fascinating in many ways; coming soon: #FunFigFacts.
Stay tuned!

Fig. or fig, which is which? A picture of a fig, the logo of EffiScientiFig and a vector image of a fig, respectively entitled Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3

EffiScientiFig is all about figs!

In scientific texts, figures are referred to with the abbreviation « Fig. »
I got excited about using this pun, which also reflects my passion for #plants and #science, and ended up using it for my scientific graphic design company.

Pulses: from field to plate, ideal characteristics to meet tomorrow's challenges. By EffiScientiFig. Diagram describing the advantages of pulses. At the start of the arrows: nitrogen fixation from the air, low water requirements, wide genetic diversity, low cost, high in protein, high in fiber, low in fat. At the end of the arrows, issues such as food security, resilience of agricultural systems, climate change mitigation, biodiversity, diabetes prevention and management, cardiovascular risk reduction.

#Pulses are the future! Do you know why? 🫘

🌍 Legumes are sustainable crops
🫀 Pulses are nutritious and healthy
💰 Affordable food options
🥗 Fun dishes

Let’s eat more pulses! 🍽️💚

Up: 5 circles illustrating rivers, floodplains, marshes, estuaries, and mangroves.
Down: 4 squares to illustrate how wetlands degradation contributes to floods: 1) a river and a marsh, with natural soils; 2) channelization of the river and drainage of the marsh; 3) land conversion to urban areas and agriculture; 4) heavy rain causes severe flooding.

Happy #WorldWetlandsDay! 💧

Today, let’s celebrate the central role of #wetlands in our lives!

They increase resilience to #ClimateChange, support #biodiversity, filter water & contribute to #foodsecurity.

Preserving & restoring wetlands is essential to limit severe flooding from heavy rainfall.

Soil Organic Carbon Measurement Methods.
At the top, 5 methods are mentioned from left to right.
* Novel sensor technologies
* Hybrid (satellite + high-resolution sensors), a promising approach
* Core sampling & lab analysis, the gold standard
* Hybrid (satellite + lab)
* Satellite imagery

Each method is illustrated with corresponding icones : soil with probe and portable device for Novel sensor technologies, soil with soil core sampling going in an erlenmeyer flask, satellite.

Below is an indication of accuracy with line thickness, peaking at the center below the core sampling and lab analysis method. Novel sensor technologies present a good accuracy, and satellite imagery a relatively low accuracy.
Then drawbacks are quantified with line thickness as well. Greater drawbacks for core sampling & lab analysis, then for satellite imagery, and novel sensor technologies present the lowest amount of drawbacks.

💡 Did you know #soil is the largest carbon reservoir in the terrestrial ecosystem?

🚨 Accurate estimation of soil C is crucial to addressing pressing issues such as #ClimateChange, #FoodSecurity, and #biodiversity conservation.
