THE SNOW SERPENT
Begin with an ozempic moon
Begin with the conjuring moon
My house has a name & it is: Revolution
Skin
My dress has a name & it is: Sleeps in Snow
I am all about necklines —the vaulting V of them
I have been interred
I have been enfurred
I have been sable collared, once again This feels a lot like a mammal in a clutch This feels a lot like a mammal giving up I am very very relaxed Ballerina like —I am nothing but neck
I am an anesthetized snake at an acupuncturist
Flowers grow out of every needle stick
I am half frozen
To congeal is wed snow with blood
My blood is blue
My blood is cold
My body is nothing but a line of sky colored hyacinths
Snow is what falls
into them

Today’s #poetryprompt:

Let chance rule your #poem. Whatever that means to you. Roll a dice, pull a tarot card, open a book and select a random word or sentence. Life is full of happenstance and randomness. Let’s make it work for us.

Closed Gentian Distances

A nothing day full of
wild beauty and the
timer pings. Roll up
the silver off the bay
take down the clouds
sort the spruce and
send to laundry marked
more starch. Goodbye
golden- and silver-
rod, asters, bayberry
crisp in elegance.
Little fish stream
by, a river in water.

The best recent poetry – review roundup Swell by Maria Ferguson; There Lives a Young Girl in Me Who Will Not Die by Tove Ditlevsen; Mind’s Eye by Carol Rumens; Strange Beach by Oluwaseun Olayiwola; Foxglovewise by Ange Mlinko

Up with this sort of thing. David Wheatley, one of our most thoughtful and generous poetry reviewers, does the round-up in The Guardian. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/j...

Libraries are more than book lenders. Libraries help folks fill out taxes, fill out passport forms, access 3D printers, record in a (free) music studio, gather genealogy info, take various (again, free) classes, help with resumes, video editing equipment, large size PRINTING, ++++

SOME 8’s

Snow falling proton-wise

—falling sideways

is

not a black swan
event

Speed is its own

para//elogram

I spend forever turning
out
in
this
ballerina nightness

I feel myself bleed
inside

my skates

I’ve been exchanging tanka poems with my friend Marina. Recently, she sent me a passage from Glissant’s Poetics of Relation—prompting me to resume our correspondence. As Frank O’Hara once said, “the poem is at last between two persons instead of two pages.”

An everyday prompt distilled from yesterday’s wild blue musings on the Northern night sky as The Code of 404

(4🌌4)=(🐝🌻🐝)=(🌒🌕🌘)

What is coming toward you?

What is being ferried away?

1 year ago 1 0 0 0

Am still thinking about these 2 bees

& really, there’s no reason why the North Portal can’t be the flower

Like a giant revolving flower

With or without Polaris at its center

Which would make earth the hive

Works both ways

Bee’s job remains the same

It’s high time to reinvent Martian poetry.

Multiple personalities optimize parallel universalities.

How to activate cultural networks that span age & affinities?

This quote is off limits for the average reader.

If life hands you a sousaphone, make a parade.

4🌌4 Poetics

If this 0, pictured below, is the portal to the universe (currently known as Polaris)

then that makes our earth the flower filled garden

& the universe the hive

& these 2, 4 legged bees

are the pollen laden go betweens

The boarder crossers

The poets

Traversing from flower to cave

May be the oldest 404 message, ever

Very puzzling how these bees only have 4 legs

This is what Ive found so far:

NOTES ON COOLIDGE, OBJECTIVES.
ZUKOFSKY, ROMANTICISM, AND & by Robert Grenier:

“The Maintains product of Coolidge's operations.
Quincunx translated to lines from fives in nature.”

If 404 represents the ancient starless true north

then the quincunx would be the current Polaris configuration

Somewhere in my travels

Ive come across a quincunx poetics

which i can no longer find

Can anyone out there help with this?

4🌌4 Poetics:

Sometimes i wonder about the eons

when the North Star was gone

When the constellations & the 4 quartered moon circled a void

A portal

—circled the North Door

Will You Fall in Love With This Poem? I Did. (Gift Article) “Romantic Poet,” by Diane Seuss, is one of the best things that our critic A.O. Scott read (and reread) this year.

Well, cool.
