The "school of fish" effect is just by batching the fish cannon to release 5 fish over time multiple times with a smaller or larger curve.

It's pretty close to boids while having none of the performance cost. #indiedev

my in-game currency is fish, so I wanted to make it possible to shoot fish anywhere on the screen

(the player can eat it or spend it)

it ended up looking pretty good by just fiddling with a sine curve
