Nice… and yet…
The mantra remains unchanged after all these years: “We need more information about China.”
So we keep compiling. Today, there has never been more information about China—produced by a vast ecosystem of think tanks across the world.
Q: Has anything major changed because of it?

“Energy leaks when teams return to fuzzy priorities, bloated timelines, or work that feels stalled before it has taken off,” Cussens said. “We reframed January in short, shippable milestones rather than annual objectives (...)."

I have been using Google AI Studio a lot recently to build apps and agents.
First, I tell Gemini what I want to build. Then I ask it to ask me whatever clarifying questions it has before generating the right prompt
I then get exactly what I want the first time when I move on to build the app/agent.
A purported MIT study suggests that 72% of prompt engineering time is dedicated to this iterative process.
(...) refining prompts to reach desired results is time-consuming and frustrating, emphasizing the inefficiency of human language as a direct interface for complex AI systems.

At the time, I viewed it as a contribution to the evolving field of terminology management and information retrieval, written in the pre-Google, ...
Guizhou has a lot of bridges, all of which are engineering marvels in their own way, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge being the latest one to open.
There is, however, another engineering feat that dates back to the 1970s that is no less impressive, as you will see in the video.

A Thai Michelin chef has been here in Guizhou and has discovered Guizhou cuisine, and is now building a culinary bridge between Guizhou and his home country. Great promotion of Guizhou, not just its cuisine. Video so far without caps.

Amazing. I rode the high-speed train twice this week already, and it is incredibly fast (300+km/h) as it is. And incredibly convenient.

I recently went to Zhenyuan County, to be with the wonderful students and teachers of Zhenyuan Middle School. We had a terrific time together, and I have never given out so many autographs in one day. 😊

of the "Digital Silk Road" (see picture). Unfortunately, nobody was around to talk to when I passed by but I did read something about it being a kind of matchmaking zone for companies from the US, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Russia, Malaysia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and India ... (3/4)
Not that many foreigners this time (or, to be fair, today, the expo's last day}, but Huawei is, as always, a magnet. The honeypot: Huawei's array of chips/semiconductors.
New, at least to me, was this year's introduction of the "Digital Silk Road" (see picture) (2/4).
I went to the 2025 数博会 (Big Data Expo 2025) here in Guiyang this afternoon. Notable, how over the past two years "Big Data" (大数据) has been replaced by AI (人工智能) almost entirely. No longer Big Data for Agriculture, Education, Finance, and whatnot, but AI for ... and you name it. (1/3)
Big data industry expo opens in Guizhou, highlights China’s computing power
In sectors such as manufacturing, tourism, and agriculture, Guizhou is taking targeted initiatives to tackle challenges, accelerating the development of an "AI+industry" ecosystem. The province aims to create more than 500 large-model application scenarios by 2027.

Yes, it is that straightforward. Ask yourself: What is it you want to achieve (future outlook) based on where you are now, and then look for the tool(s) to help you get there.

The Huajiang Canyon Bridge in China’s Guizhou province completed a key load test on August 25, 2025. Considered the world’s tallest bridge, it is set to open in September. The structure is among several record-breaking mega bridges the country plans to put into operation in the next few years.
Guiyang has established itself as a digital infrastructure titan. As of 2024, the region supports over 7,400 data companies and sees the digital economy contributing a remarkable 53.3% of its GDP.

If there are mountains blocking your way(to building the highest bridge in the world), you either start drilling or, as in this case, you start "shaving" your way through

"As for the mountain crevasses, Spanish news outlet Diario AS reported that engineers used explosives, large drills, and precision excavation to carve a wide corridor through rugged peaks, creating a V-shaped fissure for the highway to pass through."
