That is glorious.

I appreciate the thought -- just a little too brain-dead tonight. Good luck with the groove!

Aww, too bad I missed it. Too much other work to get done tonight. If you do another one tomorrow, I'll definitely join in!

Love me a good chaos gremlin!

"Someone has to do something."

One of my favorite tropes.

I love the sound of that. It feels from this like the anxiety can be a motivator sometimes? Regardless, being able to keep going is inspiring. I wish I could be more like that.

Community can be SO helpful. I've been lucky to be a part of a couple terrific ones, and I owe them so much. Glad you're here!

Heck yeah! OMG, I love the memes. Go Morgan!

Bonus: My favorite is probably a himbo paladin I wrote for a play-by-forum TTRPG. He was just so cheerfully good-hearted that it brought me joy just writing about him. I've recycled little bits of him for this project.

My favorite thing about her is that she genuinely loves people and her community, even if she thinks she's only doing all this charitable business because she owes it to her beloved cousin. She'll get over that misconception eventually...

My MC is Ania, a 40-something overly charitable secondhand shop owner who lives with and supports her mother and older cousin, and a secret illusionist in a world where the use of magic gets you forced into serving the ruling class until your magic is exhausted. #crpshrikes #camprevpit

My problem is that I'm usually driving when I listen to audiobooks and I cry increasingly easy the older I get. The number of times I've had to pull over to the side of the road in the last couple of years is, honestly, a little embarrassing...

I read them aloud to each of my three kids and they hit me right in the feels every time. It's awfully hard to read out loud when you AND the kid are both on the verge of tears!

I've been to the destination once but in my hurry to get there I passed other places that I still want to see. So it's time for a new trip. I had car trouble to start, but I've got snacks and a banger playlist and the sunroof is open. Let's hit the road again!

#campmap #camprevpit I always wanted to travel. I did a little exploring around home when I was young, but never very far. A dear friend no longer with us convinced me to go see the world, so here I am now with a magical map that's got important stops listed but they keep changing as I drive. (1/2)

So much better. Something less well-travelled is exciting! I'm looking forward to learning more.

Oooh, this sounds wonderful. Given the setting I’m wondering, is there a mythological thread to it?

Hi friend! This (as always) sounds amazing!

Not much, no. I've got an astrobiology-themed first-contact-from-the-alien-POV idea kicking around the back of my head for the future, but that's about the extent of it. What about you?

I'm a biochemist! Old-school enzyme structure-function-evolution stuff though I'm branching out into proteomics/metabolomics when I have the time (and money). I'm also pretty well out of the lab and into the minion-directing phase when I'm not teaching. Very much agree about the energy drain!

So sooooo true.

I love that framing! I think there's something about telling people stories that frees up the brain in different ways than just writing the story.

I'm editing for the first time (novel-wise at least) and finding that routine has been really hard for me. I just recently found something that kicked me into gear, but it was three months of self-doubt and frustration to get there.

Oh my gosh.

They are the foundational books of, well, probably my entire life. I read them aloud to each of my kids and they still affect me as strongly now as they did then.

I hope you like them!

Yes to the drafting accountability! And the others too, definitely. I just perk up when I hear accountability (since I need so much of it).

Side note, I have to ask based on your icons and your bio... what sort of scientist are you (fellow scientist here)? If you don't mind saying, that is.

Sometimes, every once in a while, doing good means stabbing. I'm in full support.

I think I was just a little too old when Redwall first came out. I've never actually read them, but I know so many people who loved them.

I love it when authors bring color and light quality into the descriptions, especially when it evokes a particular feeling. What a great idea!
