two entoloma amongst ferns, and leaf litter
you guys have a gander at these cool blue mushrooms i saw π werewere-kΕkako (entoloma hochstetteri)
A mushroom standing about three and a half inches tall is surrounded by green moss and orange fir tree duff. Its stipe is white and shiny from the thin layer of slime that coats it. The cap, which is white on the edges, light brown above the white, fading to dark brown at the top, is open and round but has a unique, non-uniform shape. Two large drops of slime hang off the left and back of the cap. π· Canon R5 Canon RF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM M, f/4, 1/4, ISO 400 Stack of 28 images 11/13/24 Northern Oregon Coast
This is the same species of mushroom that I posted yesterday, but all grown up. It stays super slimy!

Every part of the lily plant is deadly to cats - even drinking water that lilies were sitting in can kill them. Other popular spring flowers like tulips and daffodils can also make them very sick, but there are plenty of beautiful and safe alternatives.
Centered in this photo, a perfectly circular Amanita muscaria cap stands above green plants on the ground and against the fronds of a green sword fern, which runs at an angle in the top right of the frame. The cap's margins are orange and slowly fade to a brilliant red in the center. Patches of white, the warts on the cap, are spaced evenly but not very far apart throughout the cap.
A perfect circle containing the colors of a beautiful sunset contrasted by green sword ferns π€π»π€π» Thanks, Amanita muscaria!

A relatively small mushroom, which stands about two inches tall, grows out of wet, fir duff-covered ground. Its stipe is white and reflective because of its wet and slimy surface. A ring of rusty, web-like fibers surrounds the stipe just below the cap. Tiny droplets of water cling to the stipe between the rusty ring and the cap. The gills are rusty orange and light brown. The cap, which is thick and flared out, has a slight blue or purple hue to it but is mostly white and shines because of its wet and slimy surface.
Really liked the shine on this wet and slimy Cortinarius. Not sure which species it is, but I think it's really cool ππ

An Amanita muscaria, a tall mushroom with a thick white stipe and a bright orange-red, dome-like cap, grows on the dark forest floor. Its stipe is covered in small beads of water. A large drop of water hangs from the right side of the skirt-like flesh that hangs down beneath the cap. Its vibrant cap is shining and reflective from the water its covered with. Small separated and bumpy patches of white cover the cap.
With some nice light and heavy rain, an already pretty Amanita muscaria gets even prettier

Two mushrooms grow side-by-side, their stipes emerging from the same spot in the ground. They have slightly purple but mostly white stipes that are covered in a layer of thick slime. Their light and dark brown caps are also covered in a heavy layer of slime. A large, viscous drip of slime hangs off the front of the cap of the mushroom on the left.
Cortinarius seidliae or vanduzerensis... unsure which one. Regardless, these are one of my favorite mushrooms to find!

Amanita muscaria, a mushroom with a thick stipe - this one off-white in color and standing about 10 inches tall - and a dome-shaped (or Frisbee-shaped, in this case) cap, grows out of dark, fir needle-covered ground. A short, skirt-like ring of flesh hangs from where the stipe and cap meet. The cap is orange in color and covered in many white warts, or patches, that are slightly spaced apart.
This Amanita muscaria had a perfectly shaped cap ππΌπ a nice skirt, too!

I got into the Astoria Sunday Market this year π₯Ίπ I'm so excited !!! I'll be there with my art on the following days:
An entirely orange mushroom with a large pointy cap grows out of dark wet soil. Standing about four inches tall, this mushroom has a smooth stipe with a twisty texture and a large cap that appears just ever so slightly bumpy on the surface and looks almost exactly like the hat of a witch in its shape.
I seriously love Phaeocollybia mushrooms. Pretty sure this is P. piceae. This one reminds me of a witches hat π§ββοΈπ

A group of about twenty purple and wavy tentacle-like fingers rise from orange fir needles covering the ground. This fungi is named purple spindles for good reason. This group of spindles stands about eight inches tall at its highest.
This weird fungus is Alloclavaria purpurea, better known as purple spindles. They're so tentacley!

And I wanted to share my 2nd tier including some more really old titles from my childhood, along with Phasmo which was peak 2020 for me.
Ok I had to redo this because Diablo 2 deserves a spot on my main. This is a top 9 games thing I've seen going around! These are probably my lifetimes most played games. π
A cool little Mycena that I photographed in Oxapampa, PerΓΊ. Never seen one with this cool stem texture before, no idea which species it could be.

This mushroom, growing out of dark soil and light green moss, is called plums and custard. The entire mushroom, other than the gills, which we can't see from this straight-on shot, is a light reddish-pink color with occasional spots of soft yellow. It stands about 3 inches tall. Its flesh is covered with extremely short fuzz.
This rosy-pink beauty is called plums and custard, Tricholomopsis rutilans. In spite of its yummy name, it's not recommended to eat it

A large young mushroom emerges from thick moss and tiny plants. Its stipe is a bit roughly textured and is about two inches long and one inch wide. The cap, which is just as tall as the stipe but is more bell-shaped, is bright red and has small yellow-white popcorn-like patches (i.e., warts) all over it.
I love the way Amanita muscaria looks when its surrounded by green π±πΏπ
