Like being in 2006 again. Came out of the lobby & everyone was shit talking. It made me smile & made me think of better times.

Yeah, by brute forcing I mean going on a murderous rampage with your abilities ๐
It's definitely more grounded & isn't something you can brute force like Dishonored.
Same man. It's a unique itch but this very much scratched that itch.
I've noticed lots of nice little QoL touches like this. I love the camera transitions for the parkour sections, reminded me of Deus Ex.
I am just in the dungeon at the end of the Vatican. Hoping to see a more expansive area next. I've missed playing games like this.
I've spent most of the day playing Indiana Jones, it's got so much Dishonored DNA running through it. Love it. I'm about 12 hours in & have been exploring the Vatican, doing side quests & activities. It's the most AAA feeling game I've played in a while. Really enjoyable.
Yeah. It's stunning isn't it and so vertical. I love the little pockets of islands.
I haven't really enjoyed an Assassin's Creed game since 2 tbh but I am falling in love with Odyssey. Each quest has a narrative behind it with top tier production values, the mercenary system adds weight to each encounter forcing forward planning & Kassandra herself is a brilliantly realised hero.
Yeah it's moment to moment gameplay is very Bethesda like even down to starting in a dungeon like Oblivion
We've been absolutely blown away by the first few hours of Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. I feel like I've jumped in at the right time when the game is at its best. A dark fantasy BGS-inspired game is what I needed to play right now. Bravo to the team ๐
Oh its me. Hi, Mum!
Nobody I'd rather listen to than @lairdbarron.bsky.social whilst out walking with the dog.
Simpler times. I turned 40 last year & honestly I have been so nostalgic for the mid 2000's time in games. I miss just booting up the 360 & playing Gears with friends all weekend. If you're in your early 20's now make sure you appreciate this time you have. ๐
This is where holiday cinema peaked
Enjoy a look at the narrative side of Fellhollow, the upcoming expansion to the Unreal Engine 5-powered open-world survival crafting game RuneScape: Dragonwilds that's out tomorrow on Steam:
A post by c.a.t.y.a.y that reads, "I wonder what my art could've been if I didn't quit". Iggy responds, "I wonder what it will be if you start again"
Going into 2026, a reminder for everyone who's fallen off the creative wagon, game dev, writing, art, music, whatever, no matter how long:
๐ฟ Verdant is a singleplayer survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world, frozen in the 80s.
๐บ You wield the power to take or restore life - and combat is always just a last resort.

Spent some time with Lords of the Fallen this afternoon. The umbral lantern is an interesting concept & feature, but I am not a fan of the camera position, and the combat animations are fast, which makes it feel "floaty" and not deliberate, unlike in the Souls series.
I developed a bit of an obsession with Half-Life this year.
I haven't clicked with it yet either but I respect what it is and what it's doing
You're wrong Tom, just plain wrong (I have no idea what your opinions are but I am sure they're valid).
If you're an enjoyer of the macarbe & the cosmos I implore you to give Thomas Ligotti a try. Cosmic horror stretches far beyond HPL.

Some #Blocktober progress
Iโve been focusing more on pacing & exploring lightweight, storytelling techniques that work well on mobile.
The goal is to keep everything diegetic, letting the environment communicate the story rather than relying on cutscenes or UI #leveldesign
Here is my #blocktober '25 update. About half a dozen hours in so far as I was late starting. Looking forward to seeing what I can get done by the end of the month #leveldesign
Finally managed to persuade the wife to give Yellowstone a try
Had a fantastic family vacation in Wales. Nothing beats sea air & family time to help reset the mind.
In #TotalChaos, Fort Oasis is waiting...

Great portfolio pieces also even in the blackout phase.
