Thanks!
At the same time, I am really excited to become part of the scientific community in Würzburg. Looking forward to new opportunities and collaborations!
I am starting a new chapter as Full Professor and Chair of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Würzburg.
I am deeply grateful to all my wonderful colleagues in Cologne with whom I've had the pleasure of working together. I will miss the great environment of the Uniklinik campus.
The Lise Meitner Excellence Programme is designed to attract and specifically promote exceptionally qualified female scientists.
A position with prospects! We offer excellent researchers again the possibility to apply for a position as a Leader of a Lise Meitner Research Group in all areas of #science. Applications are possible between February 11th and April 15th, 2026. www.mpg.de/lise-meitner... #lisemeitnergroups
New preprint from the lab by Dennis Feigenbutz et al.: Using #snRNA-seq, we explore vulnerability profiles of cortical cell types in #HuntingtonsDisease mice and identify ER-phagy as a new pathway in HD pathogenesis.

Congratulations to Cole Sitron et al. from Ulrich Hartl's group @mpibiochem.bsky.social on this beautiful study exploring the interaction of α-synuclein aggregates with the ESCRT-III complex, now out in @cp-molcell.bsky.social - it was a pleasure to contribute to the project.
Trilled to share our new work🥳We show that age-related hyperactivation of the EPS8/RAC signaling pathway drives protein aggregation and neurodegeneration — hallmarks of Huntington’s disease and ALS. #proteostasis #aging #neurodegenerativediseases
New lab preprint: Leveraging the updated AutoGaitA toolbox, we revealed distinct species-specific mechanisms to generate propulsion during walking and the conserved pattern of age-related propulsive decline from flies to humans. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Delighted to be part of the new Research Unit on Organismal Proteostasis.
Thanks to @thevilchezlab.bsky.social for all the hard work on putting together this consortium, and to the #DFG for funding our research!
Happy to share our new preprint, where we find that anle138b reduces Huntingtin inclusions and improves disease phenotypes in #Huntington’sDisease models, showing its potential as an HD treatment.
Great work by Miguel Padilha and several wonderful collaborators including thevilchezlab.bsky.social
Mitochondria a safe haven for aggregation-prone proteins? #neurodegeneration. #Parkinson. Find our latest manuscript in @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Interested in the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration?
📢 We are looking for a PhD student interested in studying the role of TDP-43 in genome stability and the DNA damage response!
Apply via this fantastic PhD Programme until April 3 👇
Our new paper shows that targeted stimulation of a subtype of cortical inhibitory neurons can ameliorate motor deficits in Huntington’s disease mice. A great collab with @irinadudanova.bsky.social www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
How do different cortical neuron types contribute to circuit dysfunction in #Huntington’s disease?
Check out our new collaborative study with @takakikomiyama.bsky.social, spearheaded by Sonja Blumenstock, now out as a preprint.
