The page with just the cops is the first time I really did a defining bit of Spirit Falls to me: perspective/artstyle changes. In their case, I added a little "awful modern TV cinematography" flare to it.

Growth came with the unfortunate downside of feeling like the first ~7 chapters are hideously ugly.
Raising my standards and being able to fulfill them leads to scope creep. I spend every waking moment I can drawing this, to the point where I don't even market it, and it's hard to feel satisfied.

Because of how much it's connected to art, I've had to really try a bunch of new things to give each character their own distinct style at points. It's forced my art to grow a lot in the 12 chapters so far. I've released 159 pages this year but in the full scope of it all, it's just getting started.

Spirit Falls has consumed my lie ever since I survived a school shooting almost exactly two years ago. It's an urban fantasy lesbian murder mystery about leaving a meaning through art, and I had already began drawing a few pages at that point. But it really threw the whole thing into focus for me.
