Things that have changed with me over the last two years:

I'm more confident. Confident enough to admit that I really didn't like the first cover for Earth and I needed a redesign.
Confident enough to commission that redesign.
I'm braver. Brave enough to ask for ARC readers.

I'm looking for ARC readers. If you are interested in being an ARC for a fantasy book, please sign up.

My husband brought you to my attention. I'm a self-published author, always looking for a great editor to make magic with. Your website looks great.

Short story for the competition is complete.

Now back to my series until I get another idea for a short story.

I didn't manage to get any writing done today, although I did manage to get some research done for a competition piece I'm working on.

It is a lot, and some of it feels like a very steep learning curve. Mistakes happen, but it's important to remember how much you've achieved. It sounds like you're very thorough, so I'm sure you will not repeat the mistake.
You've got this.

So I've been out of the loop for a while now. Getting my writing groove back. Found a new editor. Dipping my toes in a new genre. Wish me luck.

I think that everything to do with writing and publishing is a huge learning curve. Mistakes happen to the best people in the business, and every mistake is a learning opportunity.
I'm rather inarticulate for a writer, but my point is: you've got this.

The biggest morale boost from today's visit to the Fantasy exhibition at the British Library was the realisation that not even @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com can keep straight lines of text in a note book. That's helped with the imposter syndrome!

I've just finished my most recent draft of my prequel, Hidden.
It's now winging it's way to someone who can look at it with a critical eye.

Here's a cheeky plug for my book while I'm working on the next: rb.gy/hmflus

Prequel hopefully coming before the year is out. Book 2 hopefully coming out early 2024.

I might have fallen off of the writing train (I am currently failing NaNoWriMo) but the ideas train is still chugging along slowly.

I'll do a search for it tomorrow and let you know if I successfully get it.

Sounds great.

"What does success mean to you?"

I was asked this during my time at university. At the time, my response was writing an episode of Doctor Who.

I've been thinking about the question again, and I think I want to put out something that others enjoy and want more of.

Trying something different today... A romance. No magic involved. Wish me luck.

Listening to Good Omens on Audible, wondering why I haven't read/listened to it before.

I see now why my 13 yr old loves the TV series.

I want to say a huge thank you to the people who are following me even though I'm not very active on social media at the moment. โค๏ธ

The best stories are the ones with the unexpected plot twists that no one would have guessed, even the writer.โ€ - Shannon L. Alder - Be Writing. - Text is displayed on an image of a lonely road traveling through the countryside.

Stop worrying and write. Enjoy the process of writing your story. Worrying about being a good writer stops many people from writing. #amwriting #amediting Be Writing. #authir #writing

Maybe it's the rain, but today feels like a day for writing poetry.

Hi everyone. I'm currently writing fantasy (I have self published the first book in a series called Earth), but I'm also about to explore writing romance under an alias. Watch this space!

It's a beautiful day to get some writing done.

It's been raining all day. As much as I love the sound and the smell of the rain, the #chronicillness I have do not.

Today has been very frustrating for the #author in me to not get anything done, but maybe it's a sign that I just need today to bed a rest day. The stories will still be waiting.

Authors need to stand with artists by REFUSING to use AI content for promotion, illustrations, or cover images.

If you believe people should pay to read your book, then pay your fellow artists for their work.

Now, I just auto-block writer accounts using AI images.
