Is this the same 'Bluesky Technical Advisor' we've all come to know and love this morning?
This can't be real, surely?
A tree sparrow is speaking: "Artistic creation shouldn't be considered carelessly! Good art is made deliberately! With emotion! Physical exertion! If you aren't crying or bleeding by the end, you'd better look into another lifestyle...". We see a class of birds with piles of sticks and a big banner that reads "Intro to nest building" made out of twigs. The teacher continues: "Ok! Does everyone have their bundle of soft moss?"

A four-panel comic strip by Cryptid Club. Panel 1: A small, brown, horned monster with large, googly eyes asks, "Have you heard the legend of Mothman?" Panel 2: The monster continues, "He only appears to humans before a disaster." A small white ghost floating nearby replies, "Woah!" Panel 3: A woman with long red hair holds a pair of scissors to her forehead in front of a mirror, smiling. She says, "These bangs are gonna be so cute!" Panel 4: As the woman prepares to cut her hair, the silhouette of Mothman with glowing red eyes appears in the window behind her, signaling the impending "disaster."

A collage of fourteen by eight squares containing examples of gravitational lenses. Each example typically comprises a bright centre with smears of stars in an arc or multiple arcs around it as a result of light travelling towards Euclid from distant galaxies being bent and distorted by normal and dark matter in the foreground. In some rare cases the smearing is in a complete ring, creating a so-called Einstein Ring.

Even on a rainy day, this tree is something to behold π
Tucked away in a small Perthshire village, the Fortingall Yew is considered one of the oldest non-clonal trees in Europe. Some estimate it's 2-3,000 years old, others 5000 years. Incredible!

It's 10 years today since Prince died.
So a reminder of this, that happened on the other place, because sometimes sadness can still bring laughter.
This wonderful curlew courtship display was captured by Emma Gibbens in Duxford, near to our reserve.
While the male curlew is clearly persistent, we don't think his prospective partner looks too impressed!

I am interested to see how phones that are linked to medical devices are dealt with. My niece has her insulin pump linked to her phone, and that can't be locked away. There are kids who have hearing aids linked to a phone app. Could cause issues if some kids are allowed and others not.
In the week before Walpurgis Night, the owl came one last time to the lost town of Stolberg on the foot of the Harz mountains to remember.

In a nutshell. π
Half of all the world's bluebells are in the UK. I can't imagine living in a country where the woods don't turn into this every spring.
Did a Pass the Painting activity with two of my friends and this is one of the paintings we made together.
I named it "Unreal Blunt Rotation"
Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage. A woman answers the door. We have come for the child, says the hooded figure So soon? she asks It is time, says the hooded figure. The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card! What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure We couldnβt see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading! For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman, the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them. Do not cry mother. I am a writer now.

I heard news today that doctors have surgically moved a lion's mouth on to the top of its head.
Understandably, this has created an uproar.
London in the darkness of the blackout, perhaps just as the first rays of morning appear. A narrow road runs from middle left to the bottom right, increasing in size as it progresses. Right where our sight of the road begins, placed at the very edge of the frame, is a cart, presumably horse drawn. Buildings in the shot are all silhouettes. A street light to the left is telling unlit.
A deserted street in Bloomsbury, London, 1942, during the World War II blackout, by the genius that was Bill Brandt.

We went to see the 4K sub version last night at Odeon Luxe. The second time I've seen it on a big screen, and it's just as good now as the first time I ever saw it.
