Right!?? If I was one of the VAs that got hired on and learned they used gen ai I would feel super uncomfortable. Being brought in to replace clanker voice lines they used to cut cost feels super disrespectful considering the strikes and problems VA unions are trying tackle when it comes to gen ai 😔
I was legit ready to pre-order and throw $100+ at them for the game and more for any dlc 😭
It'd be nice to know which ai software was used for the voice generation. If it was an in house program id be more okay with it but if its one of the many ai's built off of scraping artists and voice actors I really cant justify buying the game. Especially at full price :/ ugh just very frustrating.
As a VA who has been looking forward to Blood of the Dawnwalker I'm actually a very heart broken and disappointed that they used ai voice generation for development. Im re thinking buying it now. At least they were up front about it unlike other developers and publishers 😞
