This sums it up, yes.

I wanted to get a general idea, what people are using. Usually I use apps more for vocabulary. Still love a textbook, pen and paper as well.
I live in the Canary Islands, the public libraries are quite limited here.
Hey #langsky what are your favourite language learning apps? The gamification aspects really irk me. I'm thinking about something more functional.
In German we have the word Vorfreude, same concept.
Itβs a book cover, it irks me that the slightest sight of a breast is adult content. It isnβt.

100% with A1 you are able to survive and have very simple conversations. It's worth it!
We should ask @susiedent.com Happens to me all the time. Or sometimes the translation doesn't hit the nuances and seems either too soft or too extreme.

Speaking always needs time to catch up with the other skills. Much easier to perceive than to produce language. You will get there :D
You were set up to fail. Impossible not to walk out with a dog :). She is beautiful. My name suggestion is: Eira
I love exploring music in a new language, generally I always like to include as much cultural knowledge as possible. When I learned English as a kid, we used to have song lyrics and the translations in youth magazines and I learned a lot through them.

Great choice.
Enjoy! Small tip, learn the articles with the nouns from the start. It will make everything easier down the road. Deutsche Welle has some great free resources as well. Nicos Weg for example, a free video course with exercises.

What are you reading at the moment? I'm reading "Thinking in Systems" by Donella H. Meadows. It was on my list for some time. Usually I read non-fiction and a novel at the same time. Last novel I read was "Das siebte Kreuz" by Anna Seghers.
