“well I’ve had to scrape the stuff off my bus” in a very disgruntled tone. M1 from Bedminster Parade heading into the city centre at 08:20 today
This is why disabled people hate using public transport @firstbus.bsky.social

instead chose to pull the bus slightly forward and slightly scraped it against the pavement (it barely kissed the pavement). When I thanked the driver as I boarded the bus he said something like (I can’t remember the exact words)…
Log of micro aggressions and discrimination against disabled people in Bristol
1) the bus that I’m getting on to has too large a gap between it and the pavement for my mobility scooter to cross, I tell this to the driver. They could have just deployed the ramp but…
This "debate" about who should use what toilet doesn’t benefit anyone. It doesn’t fix the underfunding of women's refuges, NHS waiting lists leaving women in terrible pain, mums skipping meals to feed their kids. How about we get on with tackling the real issues affecting women?
@monzo.com Warning to anyone using Monzo
One of my DDs that was set to go out of a pot was declined, the setting for it to go from the bills pot had been removed.
Monzo said that I need to check every payment set to go from a pot every month because I can’t just rely on the technology to work.
Kings Kebab on East Street in Bristol have a person working there who uses an untaxed car with no MOT to deliver their kebabs. Avon and Somerset police won’t let me report it unless the person is driving it at time I call but also don’t do anything when I report it when it is being driven.
Thank you, I’m glad it was me and not someone who could be crushed by this treatment and not leave their house again
@firstbus.bsky.social @bristolgreenparty.bsky.social @bristolcouncil.bsky.social a bus driver is denying a disabled person access to the bus claiming I’m using an e-scooter, I’m on a folding mobility scooter which is the equivalent of a wheelchair.
Ha. Yup. They can’t talk.
NK Jemisin’s Broken Earth Series is quite dystopian
I won’t afford my rent, I’ll have to start claiming other benefits and the stress will negatively impact my health, possibly leading to be not being able to work. I’ll get evicted from my home and end up in council funded temporary accommodation, needing more help from the NHS and not paying any tax
If I lose access to PIP I won’t be able to afford a cleaner and will have to either reduce my work hours and pay less tax, or overtax my body and make my health worse, which would mean I have to reduce my working hours. If I reduce my working hours just so that I can have the energy to clean, then…
PIP enables me to pay for a cleaner so my limited energy isn’t used up keeping my house clean. It enables me to pay for other things to reduce the impact of my disability, and cover some, not all of the extra costs associated with being disabled…
I’m disabled with a condition that asking other things causes extreme fatigue. I work full time - it’s a struggle but I enjoy it. I get PIP, it was a deeply traumatising process to get this and I’m currently being retraumatised by the review that takes place every 2 years…
This morning I’ve cleaned the litter tray, had a shower, cleaned my teeth and dressed.
In the before times this would have taken 15-20 minutes and I’d not have noticed the energy expenditure.
Today it took 3 hours and I’m exhausted. It used 20% of my pace points (I’ll explain those in a bit).
#LongCovidAwarenessDay it’s just over 3 years since I caught Covid and my life changed. The person I was is dead, the future I’d envisioned has evaporated. Today I’ll post snap shots of my day.
It worked, recycling collected today
I’m hoping this works as official channels haven’t
Well this morning my wheelie bin was emptied, I’d left this note on the top of the bin. The person emptying the bin picked the note up, read it, then took it to the person driving the bin truck. I’m hoping they give it to the recycling collection crew that cover this area
Last summer I had 3 months without collection until I tracked down the Bristol waste CEO and emailed him directly - might do that again soon
My recycling was collected regularly over Christmas but not since mid January. Bristol Waste are a waste of oxygen
If only Bristol Waste would collect my recycling
I also want to complain that there seems to be no way to speak to a helpful human when there is an issue. You can't run a business without customer support that is contactable. AI is not customer support. Hire Workers! Pay Workers! Don't rely on AI to do a humans job.
I found a phone number - and listened to all the AI support drivel, before finally speaking to a human (who was sales not support so unable to be of any use at all).
All I want is either my ticket to the Waterstones event, or my money back.
I tried to contact the event organiser Waterstones, and I just get an error message (both via the iPhone app and the webpage).
Then it got really frustrating, your AI "assistant" sent me on a wild goose chase to find the tickets. Nothing worked. Then they refused to help me further.
I clicked on view ticket and the ticket disappeared-only my other 3 event tickets were showing.
I checked my bank and the payment had gone out.
I check my email - and there was no confirmation email, not even in spam. I checked all my other email accounts, just in case - no emails about the event.
@eventbrite.bsky.social Subject: Need a Human to Help
This morning at 10:31 I booked a £23 ticket to this event www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening... using the iPhone Eventbrite app and paying using ApplePay.
After paying a screen came up confirming my ticket.
then the problems started
