thank you 💚🫂 I appreciate your kind words a lot. It has been a very painful and draining journey; and sadly a huge reminder of how chronically ill & disabled people are undervalued in most spaces, even charities.

This Native American Heritage Month I would like to bring it to everyone's attention that @nebula.tv doesn't have a single Native video essayist on the platform.
Nebula also platforms several major content creators with a history of anti-Indigenous racism and biases.
Demand better.
I have a chronic illness, I was suicidal and scared and alone. But no support; in my final meeting where the disability discrimination was finally confirmed I was basically told I was a “lesson learned”. To have harmed me this much and then decide it was just an “oopsie”? it’s cruelty @mind.org.uk
It’s so hard reading articles like this by @mind.org.uk when they pushed me out of their org while I was suicidal (and waiting to find out if I had a fatal brain disease!!). They even admitted to disability discrimination but still no remedy. I almost died on their watch; it’s hypocrisy. #suicide

The four claims confirmed by the employment tribunal at my preliminary hearing vs @mind.org.uk. The judge also updated one claim from indirect disability discrimination to direct disability discrimination, making my claims stronger. Listing Hearing will in less than four months #disabilityjustice
Disabled people; document everything. Especially when the organisation calls itself a mental health charity. #MindCharity
The biggest mental health charity in the UK should not be protecting its senior management when they lie in order to perpetuate ableism against its disabled employees.
The evidence of what happened to me was so serious that my discrimination grievance was upheld. #hypocrisy
The biggest mental health charity in the UK should not actively be contributing to the mental deterioration of its disabled former employees.
The biggest mental health charity in the UK should not be dragging its disabled former employees through litigation after admitting discrimination #hypocrisy
As a disabled person the employment tribunal process has been draining. However the knowledge that the truth and justice are on my side is rewarding and what keeps me going. I will not and cannot stop.
Disabled people deserve dignity at work #disabilityrights #disabilityjustice #ableism
Many of these charities and institutions meant to save us are nothing more than wolves in sheep clothing. Talking the talk but not walking the walk.
Disabled people deserve better yesterday, today and forever

yea the problem with poverty and food scarcity is that once people experience extended food scarcity that shit is carved in there forever. this was a major observable thing after the great leap forward and its resulting famine
Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.
Disability rights are human rights 💖 the hypocrisy of charities and other institutions meant to protect us must end #disabilityrights #charity #disabilityjustice #ableism
Thinking about how the biggest mental health charity in the UK caused me harm and instead of repairing it they have chosen to try to intimidate me and to re-traumatise me. As a disabled person, as a Black woman; what makes me less deserving of care @mind.org.uk ? #mindcharity #mentalhealth
Thank you 🩷 I appreciate it. I never expected to be in a fight against @mind.org.uk of all people but this is bigger than me and I’m ready
As I continue fighting my discability discrimination case against Mind(@mind.org.uk), the UK's largest mental health charity, I feel compelled to remind everyone that disabled people are people. We are not expendable and we deserve dignity and justice. #disability #mindcharity #multiplesclerosis
thank you 🫂 I'm still in recovery and still in the middle of it with @mind.org.uk, and even with the preliminary hearing judge nudging them they don't seem willing to take meaningful steps to resolve the harm that's been caused
They've relied on attrition, not actually tried to engage or resolve this. I am one person against this massive organisation where I was facing a potentially life ending diagnosis and suicidal ideation but received no support. It feels they are focused more on protecting their reputation, not me 💔
yeah, it has been terrible. Once I received my grievance confirming disability discrimination there were no real efforts to resolve this. Instead I was pushed out of the organisation in the middle of a health crisis and am now going through litigation while on severe immunosuppresant treatment 🙃
My experience at Mind as a disabled racialised staff member reflects this reality; grievances upheld, support insufficient, being dragged through litigation while on chemo-adjacent meds. Caring for staff matters too. #disability #equality www.disabilitynewsservice.com/mind-faces-d...
So sorry you're dealing with that. I can relate; my time at Mind wasn't great either and it's exhausting when support feels out of reach. Preaching mental health publicly is important, but actions speak louder than words www.disabilitynewsservice.com/mind-faces-d..

Preaching mental health publicly is important. Making sure disabled staff feel supported internally? That matters just as much www.disabilitynewsservice.com/mind-faces-d...
