Some of y’all “vote blue no matter what” types have forgotten that the relationship between the Dems and their voters is always and has always been conditional and confrontational. We’ve had to drag these dimwits by their ears to do the right thing for literal actual decades at this point.

In 1850, the California government banned the controlled burning that Indigenous people had been doing for centuries. The practice controlled the forest density, scaled down undergrowth, and promoted fire-resistant species. It reduced the severity, mileage, and overall number of forest fires. 1/5

I’ve never donated to Wikipedia before but I set up a small monthly donation as a fuck you to the world’s richest psychopath.
Text excerpt that reads: "In some cases, the deductions from money-losing businesses have allowed a handful of people to avoid paying taxes for years. Ty Warner, creator of the Beanie Baby toy, lost so much money on his side business — luxury hotels and resorts — that he went 12 years without paying a dollar in federal income taxes. Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, who built his $7.1 billion fortune by selling two drug companies, oversees an array of businesses that have produced tax losses, including the Los Angeles Times, which he bought in 2018. He hasn’t paid federal income tax in five consecutive recent years."
Text excerpt that reads: "Soon-Shiong reported negative income for six straight years from 2013 through 2018. That enabled the billionaire doctor to pay no federal income tax from 2013 through 2017. In 2018, he paid $158,000. By the end of 2018, he still had over $400 million in accumulated losses that he could use to offset income in future years, ProPublica estimates."
FYI: Billionaire LA Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong paid NO federal income tax for 5 consecutive years.
In 2021, @propublica.org found that Soon-Shiong had accumulated enough deductions that he could likely avoid paying a tax bill for additional years:
