Anytime someone bitches to me for not "not working," I ask them how many people they know willing to hire a person with a service dog. That tends to shut them up. With a service dog, many jobs are legally cut off to me. The rest have zero interest in disability accommodations of any kind.

Apparently, queer people simply existing is "political," so, yup. The legit answer: the Inquisition Trilogy revolves around a corrupt gov't agency committing kidnappings, torture, and genocide.
Breaking: HHS’s ban on gender-affirming care is struck down. Rarely have I read a ruling this sharply worded.
“This case is one of a long list of examples of how a leader’s wanton disregard for the rule of law causes very real harm to very real people.”

Same. While I want to stay informed, my mental health is too important. Muting certain words has been a blessing atm.
“Why would we, ... in the name of protecting people, create a whole other legal mandate that requires the collection and storage of even more personally identifying information that would be subject to either data thieves or data breaches?” EFF’s @aaronmackey.bsky.social told @nbcnews.com.
Another show for those interested in these kinds of zombie stories is "In the Flesh." It's both wonderfully English and wonderfully queer.
#OnThisDay the Ford Mustang debuted at the World's Fair.
Today's #OnThisDay article was about the Ford Mustang's debut at the World's Fair (linked in replies), and they also had this article about the history of the Fair itself.
A four block collage. One square is a background of wooden planks and reads: The Inquisition Trilogy. The other 3 squares are book covers. "A Mage's Power" by Casey Wolfe. The Inquisition Trilogy, Book 1. The book cover is a POV looking up at a starry night sky, trees of a forest lining the bottom. A runic magic circle sits in the center of the cover, behind the title, as well as wispy pinkish smoke. "A Vampire's Redemption" by Casey Wolfe. The Inquisition Trilogy, Book 2. The book cover has a lake surrounded by trees, a snow-capped mountain behind it. At the top, a wolf's face, focused in on the eyes, cast in blue and purple light. A full moon peaking through clouds sits in the top right corner. Wispy purple-pink smoke lays behind the title. "An Elf's Fate" by Casey Wolfe. The Inquisition Trilogy, Book 3. The cover is a cliffside at night, overlooking the ocean. A lantern is lit sitting on a rock. In the distance a coastline with a forest. A full moon in a star-filled sky with purple-tinged clouds. Wispy burnt orange smoke accents the title, bleeding into the clouds.

In the Inquisition Trilogy, music is a beloved by two of our leads. Music is a background to a lot of the happenings in the first couple books, whether at a bar, club, or live concerts. One band in particular makes repeat showings - Hex - named after their inspiration, the Hex Girls.
An ad for "One Bullet" by Casey Wolfe. The book cover is shown on a tablet and phone, standing on a wooden table. It is a dark blue background filled with stars, including a shooting star. A spent bullet cartridge casing sits at the bottom, yellow-orange smoke coming up from it, forming a background for the title. To the right of the books is the tagline "One bullet changed both their lives."

In "One Bullet," Ethan uses music as part of his therapy to control anxiety and PTSD symptoms - something I have experience with myself. So, it became part of the story, showing up repeatedly as a tool for Ethan to reach for.
this too shall pass, but f-cking hell
A screenshot of the Bluesky Accessibility settings in the mobile app. The Alt Text section has two toggles, "Require alt text before posting" and "Display larger alt text badges". The first one is turned on.
This is your daily reminder to always use alt text for your images. We gotta stay accessible for our homies!
I highly recommend turning on the accessibility setting to require alt text.
The power is yours! (Imagine Captain Planet here. Very inspiring.)
Sometimes I think about how romances written during the Regency era don't have any queer or trans people in them, but we know they existed, and we know they loved.
We know, because we have the arrest records.
Countless romances, told between the lines of police reports.
All of my books explore characters with PTSD. I also talk about anxiety and depression in a majority of them. #OwnVoices #SpoonieAuthChat
I'm interested in publishers leaving your services over your new policy changes. Does that count?
My preferred writing place is anywhere that doesn't take advantage of authors. 🙃

Oh, fuck off, @draft2digital.bsky.social. Guess it's time for publishers and libraries to drop your services. And I say this as someone whose majority sales come from your site, as well as passive income from library borrows. Unacceptable behavior.
This seems nearly impossible, lol. I might have to give it a go all the same.
Compared to other 3D printer laws proposed this year, California’s is the most troubling. It criminalizes open source, reduces consumer choice, and creates a new bureaucratic burden. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...
The Pride flag at the Stonewall National Monument honors the rich history of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Lambda Legal fought its removal and is victorious in its restoration! 🏳️🌈

There's actually a lot of queer stuff in medieval literature, including Christian religious medieval literature, which becomes evident as soon as you start looking for it.
From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought. To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears. To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool. To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen. To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies. To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.
Octavia E. Butler, 1998:
