Mine’s currently worst to best:
Running Man, Scott Pilgrim, Last Night in Soho, Baby Driver, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz at the top with The World’s End on the outside because I haven’t seen it yet

I don’t think my rewatch of The Big Short this morning was the best mental health decision
Film posters for The Act of Killing, The Devil Strikes at Night, Dangerous Liaisons, and The Color Purple (1985 version)
Man what a fun week of films #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched
From left to right: posters for Of Mice and Men (1939), Night (Curse) of the Demon, Before Midnight, and The Tall T
Been a minute since I did a #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched
There were really people trying to tell us that Bo Nix was a better QB than Caleb Williams (and Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye) after last season
We’re about to have four different kinds of hilarious possible champions, I don’t hate this at ALL
We wrap up the year with a final piece of podcast content. I brought a bunch of my movie friends along to talk about their favorite films of 2025, what they’re anticipating from 2026, and much more.

Gotta be Redford in that movie star performance
A huge thank you to everyone that contributed to our Christmas Top 5 episode, which is out now for you to listen to.
It was awesome hearing the diverse interpretation of a Christmas film, we had a lot of fun!

Pretty sure these are the lyrics to that one song by Steve from Stranger Things
When they saw how good Denver’s season was going, Netflix put the call in to throw the Chiefs’ season to remove any viewing competition for Stranger Things 5 pt. 2 on Christmas
One 6-yd carry and he forgot how to kick
2000s-10s Jets, Phins, and Bills never came close to the skill of this year’s Broncos or even Chargers, but I guess this stat is something
Promotional image for WAKE UP DEAD MAN
WAKE UP DEAD MAN may be my favorite KNIVES OUT movie. It is wildly ambitious, with Rian Johnson using the structure & pleasures of a locked door mystery to say something about the state of faith in America right now.
That something? People should choose mercy & grace instead of rage and vengeance.
This #LetterboxdFriday is brought to you by catching up on 2025 films and a little bit of research for a seminary paper #LastFourWatched
I’d like to salute each and every person that featured on part two of this collaboration.

Recession indicators everywhere
With a Netflix miniseries about Garfield and Guiteau out, I’m once again begging for some film or series about William Jennings Bryan’s campaign against McKinley
Also, that the Alex Rider guy is now the official Bind author I guess
Today I learned that the Bond writer thinks every Bond film happens in the same continuity/universe and is a direct sequel to what came before
Gotta be, in no particular order, Nosferatu, Sinners, The Substance, Pearl, and Nope (if I can do a top 6), with honorable mentions for the Fear Street trilogy, Thanksgiving, and Lisa Frankenstein as my guilty pleasures
No way. Totally valid take! I loved Barbarian! It’s definitely one of the best horrors of the decade
Been a little more all over the place, but I’m still working through 1988! #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched
Probably the closest a horror film has come to a BP win in this century. I really love it every time I come back to it! Simple enough to entertain and complex enough to engage, an ideal movie
Definitely a top 3 GDT film, and it was easily a top 20 film for 2017. It’s not my personal fave of the year, but it doesn’t upset me that it won either. Certainly deserving enough. Should’ve been Michael Shannon in Supporting Actor though
Probably gonna end up in the minority, but give me Marisa Tomei. Incredibly human performance
The people’s 2020 Best Picture!
Been a pretty strong last few days #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched
My 80-year-old aunt told me she "got tired of streaming" and is borrowing DVDs from her library again.
So I checked it out and they have an amazing selection. Blu-rays too, from Criterion, Kino Lorber and other boutique labels.
