Pixel ASCII is alive and it starts here. I just released a free tileset on Itch for strange, high-fantasy worlds.
I'm trying to survive with art. If this asset helps your game, let me know.

caves of qud
Platformer demo screenshot of a cave scene. Walls are dark blueish and covered in green moss, cave background is brown with black dark holes. Small to giant mushroom grows on floor and walls, a little character is standing on a giant mushroom, a luminous giant plant grows from cave ceiling. Weird geometrical glowing structures seems to grow here and there. There is bottom down passage leading to left, a cliff passages leading to top right, hidden channels leading to bottom right and bottom and a vine path leading to an upper scene. Overall picture got a chunky/glitchy text mode pixel art style

Here's some footage of the start of the game and hacking into a terminal to turn on the elevator that will bring you into the facility proper.
Thank you!
My game's demo hit 2300 unique players in just a week since announcement! I couldn't be happier with the outcome, but now the pressure is on to not disappoint them with the full release 😅

I forgot alt text:
A chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan, aye aye, pig, mandrill, cat, bobcat, puma
the annoying part about 16x16 px sprites is that they are actually 15x15

Thank you!
I have published Delve 0.4.0! Still incomplete but I think it is feeling even more like a game than 0.3.3.
Please play my dumb roguelike game and let me know what you think!
Binaries are available for macOS (apple silicon and x64) and Windows!

Today I learned about Gerhard Munthe, who, in the early 20th century, designed some extremely Atari-looking tapestries with titles like "Blood Tower"

One moment.
Protests, mass meetups, conferences—a youth-led movement is reclaiming the Luddite mantle, rejecting a future dominated by Silicon Valley companies, toxic apps, and generative AI.
This fall, a "Luddite renaissance" is in full swing.

Actually, this is probably the worst time to encourage an internal dialogue.

Is this true?? This is mind boggling; I assumed the same thing.
Sadly it doesn't appear there is an equivalent to DreamingSpanish for French. I haven't been doing it long but so far I like that methodology for casual language acquisition.

A lot of movie reviews don't have scores. Rotten Tomatoes is a way to 'scorify' unsecured reviews.

I guess you could make the arguement that I'm a game dev! Here's my traditional roguelike, Delve!
Most of the engine is written in pure C# and I'm using raylib for low-level drawing.
