I participated in the amazing PopGroup @popgroup2026.bsky.social for the first time in Lille, and it was a great experience to present my work for the first time.
Many thanks to everyone who organized and participated.
I am already very excited for the next ones!
Love this project from my colleague Jamie at @uni-hamburg.de 🐭 Help map where wild house mice meet across Schleswig-Holstein and be part of real citizen science in action.

The poster for the symposium titled: "Ageing outside of the box: insights from unusual and non-model species" within the ESEB 2025 conference. The symposium is organised by Margaux Bieuville from the University of Mainz and Yagmur Erten from the University of Groningen. The invited speakers are Thorsten Reusch from GEOMAR and Robert Laird from the University of Lethbridge. The conference takes place on 17-22 August 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. The abstract submission deadline is 5 May 2025.
My knees tell me I’m aging—but do you also wonder what we can learn about aging by looking beyond humans? If you study aging in corals, duckweed, or other "unusual" systems, join us at @eseb2025.bsky.social to talk about aging outside the box! Abstract deadline: 5 May. eseb2025.com/call-for-abs...
Junior faculty job alert in Germany - Marine Evolutionary Genomics @geomarkiel.bsky.social / University of Kiel www.geomar.de/en/karriere/... Marine study system of your choice (no microbes, sorry…), excellent infrastructure and ship access, moderate teaching requirements, closing date 6 June
A phylogeny of the 7 ape genomes that have now been completed from "T2T", with Homer Simpson representing mankind.
A project five years in the making, we've now published complete "T2T" genomes for six additional ape species! It turns out that finishing (and analyzing) six genomes is slightly more work than one... doi.org/10.1038/s415...
📢 new paper alert for the primate and genomics nerds. telomere to telomere ape genomes. I led MHC annotations on this work w/ @biotobi.bsky.social and @meyerbritta.bsky.social And hey it’s my first nature paper 🥳 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Hello Blue world!
I recently migrated from the old Twitter as I got tired of the continuous bombardment of far-right propaganda.
I intend to use this account mainly for scientific exchange with a pinch of politics.
So, why not start with a summary of our recent paper?
doi.org/10.1186/s130...
I just noticed this new header above the website of #MolecularEcologyResources. I'm sure that there are vast numbers of 'healthcare professionals' who will want to read our paper on MHC diversity in sticklebacks (😂), but what about the other few remaining scientsts? Just asking, @wiley.com ...

Are you interested in evolutionary epigenetics?
After Evolution 2024 in Montréal, we created an Evolutionary Epigenetics Discord server for all things epigenetics - data analysis, events, job opportunities, etc.
Interested? Message me for the link! 😄
You don't study speciation? That's okay! Here's why you should come to the Speciation GRC anyway:
