Checking in on the Blazers’ new owner: “I know he doesn’t love Oregon, and is concerned that it is a state that can’t draw free agents. Well, with all due respect, you’re not helping the cause of drawing free agents when you treat everyone like s— there.”

Players always seems to want to stay here. From the 90s, Kersey, Duck, Porter, Cliffy all stayed here. Brian Grant, and Frye lived here for awhile, Turner seems to love it here. Players stick around! This should be a selling point.
He doing real damage cutting pennies when we just made the playoffs and he's slated to earn an extra 2-4 million from playoff sales. Seems like a guy who loves the term "market rate" when trying to gouge Portland for arena $ is not so good at figuring out market rates imo.
Read Quick's piece about Dundon. interesting perspective from that source who said he is not trying to cheap out on a coach.
This has been my POV on it since learning more about the dude:
Many have theorized that in a league like the NBA, the top 5 coaches effect winning and bottom 5 hinder it

Players don’t want to live in OKC but all you ever hear from guys once they get there is how well they’re treated and how professional the org is. When you’re a non-glamour market like that (or Portland) you have to win on that stuff to even have a chance at keeping players.
"This is a franchise that we actually care a lot about. The Blazers are an awesome franchise, they're up there all by themselves... they have a fun history, they have incredible fans... let's make sure we take care of this fanbase."

The Onion plans to turn Infowars into a comedy site with satirical echoes of the fringe conspiracy theories that Mr. Jones is known for. Tim Heidecker, one of the comedians behind “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!” on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, has been hired to serve as “creative director of Infowars.” He said he initially plans to parody Mr. Jones’s “whole modus operandi.” Mr. Heidecker has been working on his impression of Mr. Jones. But eventually, when that joke gets old, Mr. Heidecker said that he hoped to turn Infowars into a destination for independent and experimental comedy. “I just thought it would be just a beautiful joke if we could take this pretty toxic, negative, destructive force of Infowars and rebrand it as this beautiful place for our creativity,” Mr. Heidecker said in an interview. During a recent trip to Philadelphia, he traveled to the Liberty Bell to film a video in character as the new creative director of Infowars.
Get excited.

No free lunches?? Stfu Reggie there were 3 missed foul calls before that
Red had to get loud there to finish that explanation
Get it to.10!
Between this and the Blazers reportedly wanting to pay assistant-coach wages for their next head coach, the Dundon era is not exactly off to a flying start
My blood is boiling. How else do they learn and get experience? This is not winning culture.
In the latest of Tom Dundon's cost-cutting measures, the Blazers are the only playoff team that didn't send their two-way players (who are ineligible to play in the playoffs) on the road for Games 1 and 2 this weekend.

You don't get to try to take the city for hundreds of millions of dollars for the arena if you refuse to run the team with any modicum of business sense. Gutting a team that's finally back to .500 ball and in the playoffs is gross.
Look I don't think we're gonna beat the Spurs in a 7 game series either, but you gotta send a scout to the Minnesota-Denver just in case right? That's why we have scouts isn't it?
he’s not moving the team he’s just running it like it’s a small market NHL team when the NBA has different realities and expectations
I’m sorry, but leaving Bruce Ely in Portland for the team’s return to the playoffs for the first time in 5 seasons to save maybe $2000 is fucking bullshit and Dundon should just put the team back on the market if this is how he plans on running it.
Dundon is going to make at least roughly $4mil of unexpected playoff money. You'd think he would be stoked about that. Maybe use it to pay a market rate salary for the HC next season? I dunno..
Big Friday news dump day for sports
I like the intensity in a big game, it has been a rough game, and she is playing the best I've seen in the fourth. But I fully agree with you, I don't want her to hurt herself coming up short on a comeback chance going all out in what has largely been a blowout until the 4th.
Caaaaaaaareful, Carla. Portland is gonna need you this summer.
when the spurs visit the blazers for game 3 at the rose garden, it will have been 2,531 days—nearly 7 years—since a fully-loaded playoff home game at the arena (game 4 vs the warriors in the WCF).
The 'Musk used SpaceX to buy Cybertrucks' story is going around but Electrek was on this shit awhile ago! There's so much scammy shit out there in the wild about Elon and yet the markets keep floating his ass
A tweet from Representative Thomas Massie that reads: I just viewed 2 Top Secret FISA docs. 1) FISA Court opinion that raises serious concerns about FBI implementation of FISA 702. 2) letter by Senator Wyden describing a secret government interpretation of FISA law. The Constitution requires I vote No on FISA 702 reauthorization.
I sent a classified letter to House and Senate colleagues about a secret interpretation of surveillance law that every American should be concerned about.
Representative Massie is right. The Constitution requires EVERY member to vote against a clean reauthorization.
