Amazing, what a relief. This makes my day. I'll stop reading the news now so I can go to bed happy tonight :)
I asked a Trump health appointee if he believes in Long COVID.
Couldn’t get a direct answer.
I asked if he’d recommend the COVID vaccine.
Couldn’t get a direct answer.
Let’s set the record straight: Long COVID is real and vaccines work. Claiming otherwise is dangerous.

The design included prospective cases. Those infected with COVID-19 were compared to those who were not and symptom prevalence was assessed. While there are always outliers, the symptoms described were reported with increased frequency/severity in the COVID group.
RECOVER paper on Long COVID symptoms in young children is out. This work is important because symptoms are different in the youngest affected, under-recognized, and under-reported.

URGENT: FDA plans to limit COVID vaccine access to those 65+ and those with qualifying health conditions.
It will be almost impossible for kids to get vaccinated against new variants.
You can submit a comment today to oppose this.

3 years ago I joined a panel of patients to determine how to allocate $4.8 million to Long COVID, ME/CFS, & dysautonomia research (the @patientled.bsky.social research fund).
It was an amazing experience working with patients like @ahandvanish.bsky.social @themegascope.bsky.social & many more.

How are people with Long COVID affected by COVID reinfections or other common illnesses? What are long-term health outcomes?
PLRC joined forces with Visible to find out. Please consider enrolling, and if you are already enrolled, remember to log any infections!

We did it y'all. They're walking back the cuts.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to all the patients and researchers and reporters who drew attention to this, and helped us to succeed in changing hearts and minds.

Years of hard work and the promise of treatment and cures for Long COVID are at risk because of these funding cuts. The human, economic, and social costs of these cuts at this point of time can't be overstated: thesicktimes.org/2025/03/27/r...
#NoLongCOVIDCuts #LongCOVID #SaveScience
Despite the "Make America Healthy Again" slogan, new cuts by the Trump administration target pathobiology studies on Long COVID. These studies, nearly complete, could lead to major breakthroughs. Halting them now wastes past investments and undermines vital research.

None of us asked for Long COVID, none of us want this.
But so many of you have shown courage and solidarity and built a community against all odds.
Thank you, from the sea in me to the sea in you.
Knight speaks to the depth of feelings that can unite a group of people. It's a poem of incredible movement and strength. I've read it over and over and wanted to share it today, on Long COVID Awareness Day.
For all those fighting Long COVID:
“You have made something
Out of the sea that blew
And rolled you on its salt bitter lips.
It nearly swallowed you.
But I hear
You are tough and harder to swallow than most . . .”
