Funny how some folk call the BBC left wing and others call it right wing. I guess it’s relative?
Or just don’t feed them at all
Not keen on the ES model anyway. Some folk frame rewilding as an ecosystem management tool to delivery “services” to humans, apparently ignoring intrinsic value of wild nature. Remember, it ain’t all about us you know! However, ecosystem functions underpin supporting/regulating services right?
The Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act is wilderness legislation as it should be—with no special provisions that chip away at the Wilderness Act or weaken the protections Wilderness and wildlife need.

3.3% …is that rarer than rainforest?
I know someone who could help.
Depends very much on definitions. Just like heather moorland. Remember the "75% of the world's heather moorland is found in the UK" myth? I'm sure you do!

Hard to tell, but looks like it. We used 15min walk times to NE's ANGST+ data and LSOA population census. Always possible to improve these analyses though.

Agreed. “Conservation” can be more about control in some societies rather than coexistence
You just need to look at "conservation" for game to answer that question.
Nope
I’m retiring shortly. I *won’t* be switching my vote to Reform!

"Large carnivores, although not limiting total herbivore biomass, shape community composition and size distribution, and promote spatial heterogeneity in biomass consumption (le Roux et al., 2019; Mas-Carrió et al., 2024)." Not in lil'old England they don't.
