and on top of that, "cooked" as an adjective to describe someone who is really stoned/high e.g "they're absolutely cooked rn" PLUS meaning in trouble/underperforming OR bad/difficult e.g "i fucked up the bio test, im cooked" or "the bio test was cooked"

"cook" is such a versatile word. you've got the standard meanings (verb: make food, noun: person who makes food) but i also see cook as a verb to mean "have good/controversial ideas or actions" maybe associated with a sort of covert prestige ? or humour ?

thinking of creating an online persona where i pretend to be the great granddaughter of lamarck and say things like "what colour do you guys think i should dye my hair if i start trying for a baby? i really like pink but what if my children hate having pink hair? 😥"

In the Germanic languages the word for "house" < *hūsan stems from a word that refers to the physical structure, while the word for home, heim etc. refers to the emotional and personal connection and stems from the word f/t village or place where s.o. belongs/settles, from PIE *(t)koimo- > *tkei-.

teddy bear toast: buttered toast with cinnamon sugar. a slice of banana at the top left and top right corner (the bear's ears), a slice of banana with a raisin on top in the middle (the bear's nose), and two raisins above the nose (the bear's eyes).

one of my fav foods as a kid was when my nanna would put cinnamon sugar on buttered toast and then put a few slices of banana and some raisins to make it look like a teddy bear :]

the one thing, above all, I’d suggest to the newskies:

be kind

block and mute the shitheads, don’t engage them if at all possible, and just… treat people with respect

we have a real chance to build a better culture, let’s take it

Well done Matildas, an amazing effort in the face of a rock solid English team. So proud of how far they came, and the inspiration they’ve been to the whole country. Super excited for the future of women’s sport and all the potential this opens up. Next time! 💚💛
