From Jan. 2025 - March 2026, 100+ pro-censorship bills were introduced in state legislatures. At least 40 bills would penalize libraries and library workers with lawsuits, fines, or even jail time for protecting people’s the right to read.

Radioactive frustration - how I describe what happens when I get frustrated and struggle to not feel that emotion about everything. That’s where I am today. Trying very hard to be aware of it.

Long week and a half of being sick and trying to hold down things at work, at home, and in some other places. Lift my head up to find out the world isn’t doing much better and that as usual I’m behind in everything.

Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:

- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal

Tired, exhausted, overwhelmed by the changes made to my Alma Mater, surrounded by young people… I still managed to see, speak to, and get a book signed by one of the greatest speculative fiction authors. So today was a good day.

At the dispensary I was struggling with math. The bus tender joked that it was “weed brain”. Then I told them what I do for a living “human services” they both looked up and said: “oh yeah, you need this. All of this.” The fact the folks in my field are driving this business isn’t lost on me either.

I know that there is a #paragon based rpg in the works for #fondalee ‘a series #thegreenbonesaga but I am absolutely going to use the setting to inform my #blades68 game. I #bladesinthedark but it so overly Eurocentric that I have to always change it up anyway.

Trying so hard to find a way light a positive fire today. It’s been a long week on this very microcosmic scale, but my little well fed and sheltered world is kicking my ass.

Finally caught up on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Episode 7 wasn’t my cup of tea. If the show had 20+ episodes a season it would be fine, but for me it was just filler.

The Way Fonda Lee’s “Green Bone Cycle” would be an excellent setting for Blades in the Dark style rules. I mean it almost writes itself. #greenbone #bladesinthedark
