Analysis from @americanprogress.bsky.social has found that 119 members of Congress still reject the scientific consensus on human-caused climate change.
These elected officials have also received a total of $51,449,854 in lifetime contributions from the fossil fuel industry 👀
Meta has removed or restricted dozens of accounts belonging to abortion access providers, queer groups and reproductive health organisations in the past weeks in what Repro Uncensored call one of the “biggest waves of censorship” on its platforms in years.
Yeah for climate comms (my focus), resurrects greenwashing and decades old disinfo narratives debunkable through counter communication in the data, but I cant imagine the effect on time sensitive expert information-the models tend to "intuite" advice that hasnt been said in topics like recipes.
In my recent work, I am discoverings tons and tons of ai slop websites entering AI training data and the sources: this means that any "bad" advice can easily be reinforced in the models (especially important for fields with shifting expert led recommendations, like public health and emer. manage.)

Reporter: Dr Oz said that—
Jeffries: Who? Nobody who is serious in this country takes Dr. Oz seriously… I’m not going to respond to any comments from randos like Dr. Oz who is woefully unqualified.
I always find it interesting how the story changes when a lawyer gets to court. They can say anything they want outside of court without accountability but the rules are vastly different in court where you can get seriously penalized for lying.
Although we're not where we should be, we're on a significantly better trajectory than we were 10 years ago.
All you need to know about Bill Gates' long-standing and misguided take on climate change.

Current vs a plausible congressional seat map, if the Supreme Court heads in the direction it appears to be by killing elements of the VRA.
Now, Dems hold 7 of 33 US house seats (21%) across AL, LA, MS, SC & TN. Dems won 37% of 2024 presidential vote in those states.
Now Supreme Court may allow those states to eliminate >all< Dem seats by undermining the VRA www.nytimes.com/2025/10/15/u...

The Knight Foundation and others are trying to raise $50 million to rescue public radio and TV stations, prioritizing ones that historically received more than 30% of their funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and are among the only sources of information in their communities.
What happens when the professors and the srudents deploy a network of agents in an arms race of improving writing and grading papers? What could go wrong?
I'm delighted to serve as a Lead Author for the IPCC’s Seventh Assessment Report (AR7) in the Land Sector (AFOLU) Chapter under Working Group III. I'm looking forward to engaging with the wider community on this important multi-year scientific effort.

LIVE: #INC52 #PlasticsTreaty plenary is happening now in Geneva. The new text from INC Chair @LuisVayasEc (released only 1 hour ago) does not mention "life cycle" or "chemicals" at all. It is a betrayal of the original mandate. #BreakFreeFromPlastic unep.org/inc-plastic-... (1/🧵

US Bureau of Land Management implemented 4 new rules to increase oil-gas drilling on public lands (adding extra yr of “life” to unused leases, preventing updated stipulations to leases & 18-month turnaround on offering leases) WITH NO PUBLIC COMMENT INPUT.

Reporting on this story was interesting because it forced me to check my own biases. I'm as anti-gun as they come, but my personal feelings couldn't get in the way of accurately sharing the facts. There's a story to be written about the morality of guns at protests, but this isn't that story.
Padilla: I was forced to the ground, first on my knees and then flat on my chest. And as I was handcuffed and marched down a hallway repeatedly asking, why am I being detained? Not once did they tell me why. I pray you never have a moment like this
Everything is an Onion article.
