💬 Jaanika Merilo (Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs) shared Estonia’s success in integrating cybersecurity into its e-health strategy, stressing that trust is just as vital as technology when it comes to digital health adoption.
💬 Phedra Clouner (Belgium’s Centre for Cyber Security) warned of rising ransomware attacks on hospitals and outlined Belgium’s proactive security measures, including early warning systems and cybersecurity frameworks.
💬 Saila Rinne @ec.europa.eu presented the new EU #Cybersecurity Action Plan for Hospitals, designed to help healthcare providers detect, prepare for, and respond to cyber threats—without adding unnecessary regulatory burdens.
💬 Marina Kaljurand MEP opened the debate by emphasizing that patients should be the true owners of their health data—not hospitals or doctors. She highlighted the EU’s push to improve digital health services while ensuring strong cybersecurity protections.
