I never noticed until today how angry the US Cellular logo is

My grandfather’s advice still holds true today:
“Never buy anything from someone who is out of breath.”

So the big studios are abandoning the US and turning the staff workers into contractors to get out paying for healthcare.

The United States is losing one of its defining industries because of not having universal healthcare and the people are going to be even more vulnerable to the industry.

Don't need to go to Coachella. I can just blast different songs simultaneously from every room in my house and pretend I have no bathrooms.

I would love to know how many of these dudes self-identify as nerds because anecdotally I don't find nerds regularly gamble as they understand the concept of statistics, and if they want to engage in risky behavior with dice they will do it not with craps but with a DM and four fellow adventurers

This is textbook, y'all. No one should be surprised.

Am I really expected to work on my near deadline projects today?

The more I play and design for OSR games, the less I believe in the "old school principles" manifesto. Actually I do think the answer can be on your character sheet and yes, I think balance is fine actually. Not fighting things seems to go against the game entirely

I often wonder how much of our public school curriculum is dedicated to producing well-rounded human beings, how much is for producing obedient workers, and how much exists purely to punish kids for the crime of not being their parents.

I was told that I'd use cursive every day in college because they'd only accept my work in cursive, and my signature had to be legible or no one would accept my checks.
All my college assignments were typed on the computer. No one around here accepts personal checks.
Y'all are always behind. Always.

“Separate the art from the artist” is a critical theory that means an artist’s work can reflect values and themes that the artist does not embrace, and that a work must stand on its own merits, not the reputation of its creator.
It does not mean “It’s fine to give your money to influential bigots.”

Something they don’t tell you about getting older: you feel helpless more often than before.
Did you know that there used to be customer support phone numbers you could talk and talk to a person instead of service chat bots with preprogrammed responses that inevitably are unhelpful for your problem?

The real shocker here is that Afroman wants that MAGA money and is willing to cater to them and they prefer Kid Rock.

This is a good thread about traditional publishers and #ttrpgs, great insight into the differences between those industries, but ho boy did this stand out to me.

If I sold 13,700 copies of Tiny Taverns, that would sextuple my yearly income. In traditional publishing, that’s a line-ending failure.

Saw a thoughtful thread about AI, don't want to QT or argue. But. The biggest rage factor with LLMs is the people who, because genAI is transformative for coding, think it's transformative for everything else, because they devalue every other form of work and labor and knowledge.

Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace.

You think "the online left" is unhinged, dog please talk to an independent voter IRL. They want universal healthcare and abolish taxes. They want to dissolve the coast guard. They want to rename the army the coast guard. They want their alien implants removed, and they also want more alien implants

I'll add to this assertion by saying: TTRPG writers and designers need to play more games than they create so they can remember that a game is supposed to be fun.

Writers need to read more than they write so that they can remind themselves of what an actual good story sounds like. #writing #fiction
