Tried out the new DQ mobile game. It has an ad skip pass and they can fuck right off.

I've liked them all except BotW(well never got far in Skyward Sword). I played on the Wii U because I didn't get a Switch until Christmas after Mario came out and the frame rate could easily hit 0 and just stop, so it wasn't a great experience at times. I doubt I woulda liked sub 30fps TotK either.

Nintendo's specific aim always has been and always will be to make more fucking money.

BotW did like every single open world faux pas possible for me. Loot didn't matter because it would just break(TotK still has this issue but you can greatly mitigate it), dungeons and dungeon design was completely gutted, koroks were stupid collectibles and on and on. All things are better in TotK.

People in the thread going "well there's tons of sites where you can watch stuff for free!". I don't want to watch Godzilla vs Kong in "1080p" with a super low bit rate. I want to watch it in 4k with a low bit rate and super compressed audio! There is no winning, really.

I watched it at the tail end of the 90s on dubbed VHS and then EoE was a bootleg of a bootleg of a bootleg VHS of the Japanese version and that definitely contributed to the mind fuck

Somehow played over 30 hours of Tears of the Kingdom already and I'm surprised how much I actually like playing it. I fucking hated Breath of the Wild. Most overrated game of all time to me. Tears of the Kingdom fixes the majority of my issues with that game and doesn't hit 0 FPS like BotW on Wii U.

They have QPs off, but when I watched Eva as a 16 year old, I fucking hated Shinji and Gendo. As I got a bit older and real world anxiety took over, I was like "I get it now, kid". Then, as I got even older and important people in my life left/died, I understood Gendo as well. Shinji still gay, tho.

Based on what I played today, I will probably get my money's worth out of Vampire Crawlers, especially over time.

I dunno, I usually don't have a problem with a slow moving Japanese movie these days, but I found this to be a real drag. Just scene after scene of things that don't really lead to anything. Once the end started I was just like "Thank God!". It definitely was missing what Pulse and Cure had.

I watched the Japanese movie Before We Vanish. I really wanted to like this more than I did. The concept(!) is good, but they don't actually do anything with it and it leads to the movie feeling like it could have been 40 minutes shorter. The movie is devoid of what its aiming to be about. #filmsky
